I have found that just letting myself get fired up over a cause is not enough. I have to get loud because speaking out feels good!
When faced with an injustice like I see daily working in the payday loan consolidation business, I just have to take a step back and let myself cool off. I know good government exists, but it is getting farther and farther away from the day to day runnings of our country.
What are we speaking out on?
As I said, I work every day in the payday loan business, and I am on the side of the borrower. I hear stories every day that would break even the coldest hearts, and the stories are getting more and more frequent.
People are reaching the end of their ropes financially, and taking out these loans is sometimes the difference in eating or not eating. As soon as they take them out, they end up getting trapped due to a lack of regulation, and once they are in over their head, they have really only one choice, and that is to contact me.
What happens?
Because our government lets these payday loan companies pay them off and then supports laws that allow them complete freedom instead of taking care of the best interests of the voters, these companies run wild all over the poor, uneducated, disabled, and any other disability they can find to exploit.
They have been known to work with landlords who send them tenants who are short on rent payments, and the majority of these storefronts are in poor neighborhoods.
Who is letting this happen?
The people responsible for all of this are the people you and I have voted into office and only you and I can make this change.
As long as the politicians are allowed to accept money from special interests this will continue to happen. Money talks loudly, and sometime so loud the person listening becomes deaf to all other sounds.
What can we do?
The first thing everyone can do is boycott these companies completely. If you do not have any payday loans out do not take them out for any reason, period. If you need money find a better way, because these loans will cause you nothing but worry and heartache, not to mention a ton of money.
If you are trapped already and are buried in payday loan debt, contact a payday loan consolidation company. Take my word, they will work with you and help you get some sanity back, and they work!
Most of these companies have a payday loan repayment plan, take advantage of it as soon as possible.

Great article Shawn! ....Having a rant and a rave at the injustices of the world is good for the soul, plus it makes others aware of what's going on! In my humble opinion, banks are more trouble than they are worth...you put your trust in them with your savings and they steal from you every penny when they go bust...which they put themselves in that position in the first place! Remember the recent actions of Cyprus banks?... The rich stay richer and the poor stay poorer! See, it does feel good to speak out!
Hey Shawn, good informative article. The only payday loan myself or my husband takes if we need to pay something sooner than later is one through our credit union they take it all out of your next paycheck and the fee is only a straight 25.00. I have had no problems with it, they will only allow 500.00 max to be loaned. Between Title Max scams and these independant pay day loan places, they should have a vulture attached to their titles on all of their buildings. Regards, April
