Ballet Diet And Low Fat Menus

Ballet diet is of interest to those serious young (and adult ballet beginners) ballet dancers. Getting lots of nutrition from low fat menus is the best for your dancing health (and anybody's). I hear from many dancing moms about their dancing daughters and dancing sons. They are concerned about feeding their children properly.

Avoid Junk Foods

Have a day every week where you eat your favorite not-so-healthy foods. Whether it be pizza, hamburgers or desserts, depriving yourself one hundred per cent often leads to going overboard when you let up on the discipline. One food to completely eliminate however, is microwaved popcorn. If you truly love popcorn, pop it on the stove, and add melted real butter and real sea salt.

The movie popcorn and microwaved popcorn has some of the worst trans fats you could possibly eat. Dr. Christiane Northrup describes eating these, and other hot temperature cooked foods in saturated or margarine type fats as "blowing plastic into your arteries". This is because in commercial mixes there is always some kind of sugar added to the mix, along with MSG.

What Healthy Snacks Can You Eat?

Nuts like walnuts are excellent snacks. Three one half walnuts is hefty in calories, yet that portion is extremely filling. The omega three oils in these nuts is excellent nutrition. Much better for you than a fat free muffin. Celery is a great snack, with cream cheese or even a little (peanuts only) peanut butter or almond butter.

Beef jerky is excellent. A couple of the brands process this meat with no nitrates and no MSG. Also, some substitute lean turkey meat for the beef. The amount of chewing required is satisfying in and of itself - the brain takes a while to signal to you that you are full, and the more any food is chewed, the more full you feel.

Lean Proteins

A little saturated fat from meats and eggs is good to consume on a daily basis. You do not need to buy fat free processed meats - the chemicals in the processing are far more unhealthy than the little fat you get if you trim your meats.

The fatty acids found in egg yolks are essential - meaning that your body cannot manufacture them. Same for butter. Another note about egg yolks - eat them soft. Once cooked hard, the enzymes that digest the fats properly die. Properly cooked, egg yolks will not raise your blood cholesterol levels because those fats will get processed correctly by the liver and will become the brain and other hormones that you need to think, and to feel good about life.

Fish, a wild caught type, WITH the fat, is an excellent protein to eat about once a week. Unfortunately our oceans are so polluted that we cannot eat this precious food every day. A wild caught fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines and tuna, provides you with omega 3 fatty acids.

Breads

I personally believe that the only breads worth eating are sprouted - meaning flour free. These are healthy, some of them have combinations of grains in them that make a complete protein, and they also come in low sodium or gluten free styles. Read the labels!

Most commercial breads have been made with dough conditioners made with bromine. Bromine will fill up your iodine receptors which will in turn compromise your thyroid function to some degree, which in turn affects your metabolism and your immune system. So why risk it.

If you are trying to lose weight, skip the breads altogether. Add crushed almonds, or walnut pieces to salads or steamed vegetables for a little crunch.

Vegetables

Eat lots, dark leafy greens and bright colored vegetables. If you are trying to burn fat, avoid the starchier vegetables like potatoes and carrots. Fruits are healthy, in moderation.

Depending on your age, weight and health, you may want to get more information on a good ballet diet or low fat menu ideas.
