Belly Dance for Weight Loss

So many times we are faced with a weight loss opportunity but we struggle to keep our motivation up. We may start out fired up but after a few weeks the desire and 'fun' out of our new fitness routine starts to die out. There are other options that will help you grow and learn and want to continue on your fitness path. Belly dance for weight loss is a great new way to lose and maintain your weight.

Because belly dancing ranges from easy to advanced, anyone can do it. You could start out with a few simple arm movements and work your way down to your hips. As long as you are moving you will be staying in shape and doing a great thing for your body, mind and health. Belly dance is very new to many people which keeps you guessing and excited to learn more.

The music springs from different cultures and will keep you relaxed and attune to your body and how it moves. Taking a dance class in your local area is a great way to get out of the house by yourself or with a group of friends. You will laugh and have a great time when you start learning what types of movements you can do with your hips and chest.

If you prefer, there are also a large number of DVDs you can get your hands on if you would like to belly dance for weight loss at home. There are several different types. If you are enjoying belly dancing then you can start to target which styles of dance you prefer and go that route. If you are using the DVDs simply for fitness then you can work your way up through the different levels as you start to get more and more into shape.

So much of today's fitness and workout plans are demanding and control our every thought. If you try dancing as a workout you might not even feel like your working out. It's a great way to feel the rhythm and get to know your body and yourself better. Try belly dancing for 30 minutes 5 days a week and then work your way up to 45 minutes. It's easier not to do on a full stomach but it's also easy to do when you are a little bit tired. The music will wake you up and you shouldn't be too sore from yesterdays practice.
