Your Solution to Benedict Arnold Stealing Your Connecticut Teacher’s Pension

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Benedict Arnold is affecting the real value of your Connecticut teacher’s retirement. Let me inform you that the Connecticut Teachers’ Retirement System is actually over $9 billion in debt. I know it’s hard to believe since you and every other Connecticut teacher pays their fair share into the pension system and the State of Connecticut supposedly pays their portion right? Well, let’s just say that you can check all of your previous pay stubs to verify that you paid your portion.

If Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the State of Connecticut wanted you to receive all of your hard earned pension earnings once you retire then you wouldn’t have anything to fear. Logging into the Connecticut Teachers’ Retirement Board website and checking the status of your pension might also make you feel better. However, I don’t think you are listening to the right people or checking the most accurate websites to get accurate pension information and the truth about your Connecticut teachers’ retirement.

Haven’t you noticed how hard Governor Dannel P. Malloy is fighting to end collective bargaining? Did you know that he is also trying to trick the majority of Connecticut’s poorest minority districts to vote for his version of the “Education Reform Bill”? Did you know that Benedict Arnold also tricked the United States in the late 1700s and received financial compensation in exchange for land and a pension? As awful as it is to mislead poor and minority communities about education reform I think you should know that this is partly a diversion to what is happening now with your Connecticut teachers’ retirement. Coincidentally, Benedict Arnold was also from Connecticut. History is about to repeat itself.

Currently, Connecticut is in the worst financial position of all 50 states. Connecticut has only $10 billion in assets to cover over $63 billion in debts. Even more striking is the fact that your Connecticut teacher’s pension is actually being funded by the tax payers directly because Connecticut has no idea how to invest the money you have contributed toward your financial nest egg.

That’s right; the State of Connecticut is responsible for investing your pension contributions (and the state’s contributions) in financially sound investments. When those investments don’t produce any gains but instead actually lose tremendous value then the tax payers must make up the difference to pay those teachers already retired. The current teachers’ pensions just sit stagnant but no one usually notices. This has been happening for decades. How much longer do you think Connecticut tax payers are going to continue to pay those pension checks? It’s time to protect yourself and your pension from Connecticut Governor Malloy. Once the pension system crashes it will be too late. Don’t become a victim of Benedict Arnold.

The solution lies within the education that you worked so hard for prior to and during your years as a Connecticut educator. Your skills as a teacher are so valuable and worthwhile to you and your students but soon everything you worked for is about to crash. You must begin your plan B.

Educate yourself on how to protect your teacher’s pension. Learn how Connecticut teachers can bailout of an underfunded pension and create real passive income for life.

Yikes! That's a scary set of facts. Not just for those in Connecticut but as a wake up call to your need to protect yourself and your pension. Ahhh... and yes we all must begin our plan B because the world has gone through so many changes that pensions are simply not designed to stand up to.

Yes Cynthia, I like to think of starting the Plan B and a was to protect one's self. A government pension was at one time able to be the only source of one's income in retirement but now things are drastically changing. Thanks for reading!

I had no idea of the bad shape Connecticut is in. I knew we are suffering financially, and the state looks for every opportunity to tax us, but I didn't know the teachers were in such jeopardy. Legislators are actually trying to make us believe that we are safer in government hands than in our own. Lol! We have too many Benedict Arnolds in our government, both federal and state.

It is a sad state of affairs Joan. Connecticut does have some real Benedict Arnolds for sure. Even the original one. Thanks for your read and comments
