When you take on self improvement classes, it has been noticed that the best and the most enormous lesson you will get out of it is to be in a position of being able to manage the situations life might put you under. This will be possible through some forces of power you will learn to use. They are mainly desire, belief and expectation. Most of the things you will do will greatly rely on these three forces of power; and am happy to show you how.
The 1st force of Power: Desire
From the self improvement classes, it is evident that every single manifestation that we experience in our daily lives is out of desire. We act out of desire and the joy we share at the end of the day is due to desire. Then and only then is one wiling to take action to meet the desires.
Before one desires something, there is the necessity to believe that there will be a given degree of satisfaction that will be gained from it. All the daily activities you would carry out from the wake of dawn till dusk is driven by a force of desire, and so will everything else from your self improvement classes.
Second Force of Power – Belief
From my self improvement class, we defined belief to be the mental perception and acceptance of a given idea to be true. Many people accept ideas from others because they have some authority vested in them. From childhood, we develop beliefs because the ideas presented to us come from authority figures and this does not stop when we grow up. What changes is the body that we consider to have the authority. Some main sources of authority are religious institutions, educational institutions, peers and the media. Belief is evident when there are contradicting facts and we opt to seek the consent of the authority we trust.
Third Force of Power – Expectation
This is one of the greatest powers I have come across. It is so powerful that a doctor can take an inert tablet and tell a patient that it is a powerful drug; and the patient reacts as if he/she took the actual drug (this is the greatest illustration I learned from the self improvement class). The above type of phenomenon is referred to as the placebo effect, or the “expectation effect”.
When we are told something by a respected and trusted authority such as a teacher, parent or boss; these words have an effect on our physical, mental and spiritual levels. When you believe in a figure without hesitation, the figures expectation is likely to be.
The three forces of power learned through self improvement classes are based on the idea that we cannot control events in our lives, but we can instead influence how things happen in our lives.
Desire, Belief, Expectation. Hm, I learned something today.
I agree with Steve. We often worry more than we expect. Thanks for sharing those self improvement things.
Too few people realize the power of expectation that you discuss. Many times the things we fear happening become a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts. Self-improvement takes dedication but it is well worth the effort.
