I had been grown up with the idea that each of us have a fate decided at the moment we were born. All the people around me - parents, relatives and friends - shared this unquestionable 'truth'. Many years I never thought it might be other way. I had known that the reality we are living in determines everything happening in our life and this reality had been given us together with our life's circumstances. What we receive during our lifetime depends exclusively on our fate. We could 'move' only inside the limits imposed by outside us.
Many people still believe it. That's why they don't even think to change anything in their lives. Each of them drees one's weird and lives a limited life. In order to be able to bear anything sent by the fate, they set up a comfort zone, a shelter where they feel secure. They have many wishes, they hope in an unexpected luck sent by a clement fate, but they know they cannot have too much in life. So, why they bothering? They have to deal anyway with the daily struggle: lack of money, bad relationships, loneliness, household problems, job stress and so on. To forget about all these, they spend hours in front of the TV set watching daily news and commercial movies and shows, go shopping in malls or, best of all, allow them a nice holiday. Smoking and drinking take part from their lifestyle ('At list I have one pleasure...' they used to say).
Some of these people happen to feel that they could do more for their lives. They look towards other more fortunate fellows and tell themselves maybe there is something they can do to make some improvements - to get a better job with a higher salary, to get more money from the bank to move in a new house or to buy a new car which makes them feel better.
I know very well how these people think because I was one of them longtime. Until I found out that the things aren't like this.
Among a lot of books on the subject of setting goals and life purpose, I read an amazing book of Wallace D. Wattles, "The Science of Getting Rich". The title shook me up when I first saw it: 'Wait a minute,' I told myself, 'getting rich is not a matter of luck? Could it be a science? That means we might learn it and apply in our lives ?' I had known before that having money or not having money didn't depend on us. 'That means', I thought, 'that there are also other things in our lives which depend on us. Could it be possible? Can I create my life?'
Then I read and re-read a lot of times Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Growth Rich" and I realized that YES, it is possible.
And not only possible, it is our reason to be here. Each of us has the duty to take the destiny in his/her own hands. We came on Earth with a certain purpose, which we have the task to discover. God or whatever name would you like to give to the Big Creator of Everything, granted us on our birth a clever mind and a lot of talents and aptitudes and expects from us to use them in achieving our life purpose.
Now, everything makes sense. I felt very grateful realizing that the destiny responsibility is mine. The life purpose discovery process is not easy, but it is exciting and magic. The feeling that you are able to decide for yourself empowers and inspires.
