Emotional turmoil can be an unfamiliar and difficult situation for most men. Not free to express our feelings, we bottle them up and push them deep down in our gut until we think they are sufficiently buried. This defense can only hurt us in the long run, not allowing us to work through our hurt or even give us an opportunity to understand it.
The arguments we have with ourselves in our heads are never let on to the outside world, in fear of how we may be looked upon. The know-how to find mind piece can be an escape from the insanity, especially while going through a divorce.
For men, this can be a fantastic opportunity to discover ourselves and what we want. To understand how we feel and allow ourselves to feel it. To understand you can't enjoy the good without experiencing the bad, that sometimes, you just need something to compare it to. All this can be accomplished with self discovery through meditation.
What I picture when I think of mind peace are the moments you can enjoy nothing. There is a emptiness in thought and to have the ability to keep negativity from creeping in. I can't do it all the time, but the times I have the strength to, it helps put the stress and anxiety of uncontrollable circumstances in check and carry myself through the day.
When I discovered meditation in my search on how to find mind peace, I was highly intrigued and excited! I was able to put bad thoughts aside and focus and legitimately began to understand who I was.

Mindfulness meditation is an awareness of everything around you. You notice the way the breeze touches your skin or take notice to the sounds of your surroundings. What I enjoy about mindfulness meditation is you can enjoy it anywhere. You can practice it to some extent simply taking a walk down a dirt road, listening to the rustle of leaves, the smells you encounter and the touch of air on the skin.
Concentrative meditation is the practice or intense focus and concentration. The practitioner generally meditates with a single word or item in mind. This type of meditation can give the subject more control over their response to external forces, some studies even suggesting the ability to turn down pain and even treat chronic pain.
Along with treating pain, the practice of meditation has many other significantly beneficial health qualities.
- Lowering blood pressure
- Treating stress and anxiety
- Treating depression
- Even showing the ability to reverse the effects of heart disease!
With all these qualities, meditation can be a powerful positive choice to change for the better, especially when going through a divorce for men. Meditation is not only mentally, but physically beneficial, which can help us men through those emotionally debilitating moments.
It was quite some time before I discovered the abilities of meditation and how to find mind peace. But in searching, I have developed the ability to accept the good with the bad, the ups and downs and all the inconsistencies in life. Priceless when going through a divorce for men.
