The Meaning Of Life - My Journey

Have you ever thought about what is the meaning of life?

If you haven't. I want to ask you, "Why? Why you have never thought about it?"

If you have never spend a day thinking about it, then you probably don't know what you are doing. Why you are living in this world?

You are lucky today, because I am going to tell you what is the meaning of life. You don't even have to lift a finger, but you have to read this article.......

It started long time ago, when I was still young. I used to read a lot, one of my favourite was Aesop's Fables. In his stories, the animals can talk. I used to read one or two books a day. Sometimes, I would glued myself to the television and watch TV all day. I sucked up so much information in my head and I don't know what to do with them.

When I had any quiet times, I would recall the books, movies or stories in my head and analyse what is the message behind it.

The summer holiday when I was seventeen. It was the pivotal moment of my life, because next year I might need to go and find a job or I might go to study in the university. I locked myself in my room for a month without going out of the house. My mother thought I was sick or something - she already knew that I was an abnormal boy, but this time it was a bit over the top.

I was actually spending time thinking about "what is the meaning of life?" and also "how could I make myself happy?" One of the most important questions I asked myself was, "would money makes me happy?"

Just like Buddha, he spent 40 days sitting underneath a tree and did his thinking. As a result, he created Buddhism. I spent 10 days less, so my result was not as good and also nobody knew that I was in my room except my mum. Lol.

I came to a conclusion - money doesn't make us happy.

If money could make you happy, then there are only two reasons. First reason, you are lazy - so when you have money and you don't have to work. Second reason, you have no meaning in your life - so you have to fill the void with material stuffs. To buy material stuffs, you need money.

Second conclusion that I realized - love is the most important thing in this world.

For I have read so many books and watch so many movies. They all talk about love, and all the ending are - love won. Like in Harry Potter, because of the love of his parents - Voldemort couldn't hurt him. So you see, love is very powerful.

When we loved someone, we could readily give up our most precious thing - our life. Give you an example, if my son is going to die, I would willingly give up my life if I could save him.

Third conclusion - contentment. When we are content with what we have, we will be happy all the time. Everyone knows that, but it is very hard to practice. With true contentment, we learn to live a simple life. A life with simple basic things, of course no big house, big car and any kind of luxury.

When we are able to understand these three basic principles, we will have happiness. We will live in peace and harmony. Our eyes will see truth and beauty. We will see people as your own brothers and sisters.

There is a saying which I like best - “Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.” ~Sophia Loren

When you truly understand these principles, you will find the meaning of life. By the way, the meaning of life is different for everyone. We all have our own meaning of life, because we grew up differently and we all educated differently. Also we live in different countries and different cultures.

The only thing which is in common is love, we should learn to love one another. Not just yourself, your family, your relatives and your friends, but everyone in this world.

My journey - to finding the meaning of life.

After you have read this. Please do not say, "hey! I do not agree with you."

I have spent more than 30 years to come up with this. So you have to spend at least 30 days and think it over before you disagree with me.

My journey in finding the meaning of life doesn't end here. I will continue searching.

You can help me in my quest by leaving your comment below. Also, if you like my stories, you could visit my website and I have more stories for you.

Next time, I will tell you what we should pursue in our lifetime.

Signing off
