What is a SMART Board?
Before I get started explaining how to connect an iPad to a SMART Board, do you know what a SMART Board is?Well those of you who never heard of what they are well no need to worry in basic terms its just a white board that has touch screen technology behind it hence the name.These White boards are huge investments ranging from $1000 dollars up to $5000 dollars depending on the choice of product mostly used as by businesses,universities or just about anyone interested in one are great for meetings,presentations, or simply as a white board to draw your scribbles on.
How to Connect an iPad to a SMART Board
Alright now that I have explained what a SMART Board is how can we use the iPad in this case to remotely control it at a distance right off the iPad. So to start this simple task, you will need an iPad app to work with your iPad and the PC or in this case the SMART Board, so to get started;
- Take the time to download the Log MeIn Ignition app right from the Apple store or iTunes and be ready to pay the price of around $130.00 USD which is a pretty decent cost for a remote access app to control countless PC's anywhere in the world at your fingertips all on your iPad.
- Once setup of the LogMeIn app is in place make sure the iPad is-connected via your wireless internet service.
- While the iPad is connected have your computer turned on.
- Open the LogMeIn app on your iPad enter in the necessary credentials to get you account all set up at the same time double-check on your computer that the process went through.
- Now once the app has recognized your user interface you will have control over the SMART Board directly from the iPad.
The cool thing about this app is the supportive role it provides to the user on this nifty hi-tech white board, think about it what if a fellow instructor was presenting to a live audience on one of these SMART Boards while you remotely logged into that very SMART Board off your iPad in the back of the audience you play the role of the projection screening,moving presentations you name it all at your own convenience or have some laughs (which I frown upon) hacking into someone else presentation whichever you choose just enjoy it that's what its for.
the iPad is not limited to just a 7" inch tablet screen as you can see from the article and I personally look forward to find every trick in the book related to the iPad your comments are most appreciated THX Joan
