How To Make Android Apps - No Experience Needed
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

Do you want to know how to create your own Android apps? If you have a degree in programming, it should be easy right? Well unfortunately, most of us don't have a degree in programming. The good news is, a degree, or even some knowledge in programming is no longer needed.

My Story When I got my first smartphone, I got a Blackberry. Not because I wanted a Blackberry specifically, but because it was the most capable phone in the lineup at my local retail store. I'll tell you what, there's a lot of apps out there for all types of smartphones, and I was in heaven when I got to play with all of them. Today, there are apps for almost everything, and after a while, I started coming up with my own ideas for apps.

I guarantee that you, at one time, thought of an app that doesn't yet exist that would serve a purpose for your daily life. If you haven't yet, you will. Just think, if you created an app that does something useful for you, it should be useful for someone else right? If it's good enough, it could be useful for a lot of "someone else's".

Ever wonder where the money goes when you pay for an app? It goes straight to the developer, that's where. Sure, maybe you paid for an app that only cost a dollar. What happens if 1,000 more people like you buy it? That's $1,000. What if 10,000 people buy it? $10,000. What if the app costs $5? Yeah, that's $50,000. I'm sure you get my point.

Back to my story. I didnt like my Blackberry all that much, and ended up with an Android phone. Now, Android is pretty sweet. They are powerful phones. Even better, they are highly customizable. You can install virtually anything on them to make your life easier.

One day, I thought of a useful app, so I decided I would figure out how to create it for myself, and maybe even make some money from it. I researched the internet, bought a couple books, and began programming my own app. Let me tell you, it was not easy at all. It was line after line after line of code. It was confusing, frustrating, and tiresome. Just to accomplish one little fraction of a command, I had to spend hours learning and trying over and over.

I never did finish it.

Eventually I just got so bored and tired of seeing no results. My dream of making my own app and putting it on the market would go unrealized. I gave up, and went about my normal life. Sure there were all kinds of other apps out there, but not mine. The other apps weren't exactly what I wanted. I knew in my own head I could make a better app than what was out there, but I couldn't accomplish it.

One day, I got fed up with not making things happen. Every American has been here. You know what I'm talking about. You're tired of your life the way it is. You want to make a change for the better, but you don't know how. I decided to take an interest of mine, and turn it into a money-maker. It sounds so easy, when I put it like that, but in the end, it really is. I'm nearly 30 years old and broke because I was too lazy to start somewhere. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even the smallest change can make it happen.

So if you're still reading this, you must be like me-interested in Android, and wanting to turn it into an opportunity. Well I'll tell you, the opportunity is there. There are ebooks, paper books, CD's, videos, even software to get you making android apps. I have tried many of them. Depending on your degree of comprehension, some of them might work for you. Others might not.

I wrote this article to tell you that there are resources out there to get you started. When I began, I didnt know where to start. The internet is a big place, and anyone who doesn't know how to use keywords properly will search forever without finding a single lead.

If you really want it bad enough, you will succeed. Put yourself in the shoes of those who have made it already, and do what they've done. Some of them were just natural geniuses. Others had help. Some did it the hard way. Others found shortcuts. Believe me when I tell you, that your parents weren't always right about shortcuts. Sometimes they do pay off.

Thanks for reading!
