When looking at the Bodum Bistro coffee grinder, it's easy to see how it can be compared to leading brands. One of the first things I would be looking at with a coffee grinder is how easy it is to get the perfect brew out of it.
Does it come with an easy to follow instruction booklet? How easy is it to clean the unit. What sort of settings does it have?
These are questions that I would be looking into prior to purchasing. After all, it is the best coffee grinder for the price I'd be looking for.
Shopping around so to speak.
So when I found myself looking into the Bodum Bistro electric burr coffee grinder, I came across quite a lot of interesting facts on it.
For one, the catcher on this model is made of heat resistant glass. That's something you don't always see in coffee grinders of this price range. Usually the catcher is plastic which can make it quite messy and more difficult to clean.
So the Bodum Bistro coffee "Electric" burr coffee grinder has that going for it.
I put electric in quotes there because there is something I'm not so keen on and that's the fact that the motor is apparantly not as sturdy as you'd expect. Perhaps that's why it's priced more reasonable than some others.
From what I read about, if you're looking for a coffee grinder for a really fine course bean, then with this model, you only get around 20 seconds of grinding before you have to turn it off. The motor isn't all that powerful, so grinding your coffee for longer could damage the motor.
If you are after a fine course, then with the Bodum Bistro coffee grinder, you'd need to grind the beans for about 20 seconds maximum and then leave it for about 5 minutes before going back to finish grinding them.
On the plus side, there's a pre-programmed function built right into it, (which I think makes it one of the best coffee grinders around), and that's because you don't have to guess how long to grind your coffee for. It's already programmed with 14 settings, so all you have to do is select how you'd like it, press a button and the machine will go to work, grinding your coffee to your taste.
With the choice of colors as well, I would say there's probably an option that will make it a complimentary piece of technology for any modern kitchen.
I do love fresh ground coffee...like your Squdoo lens too....:)
Cheers Steve, I've been hitting the coffee all day. Monday and all that. Great for a pick me up. About that lens, glad you mentioned it. I linked it to someone elses. Oops. Better change that. lol
