There are rumors circling all over the tech world of Apple's new concoction of a smaller version of the new iPad a iPad "Mini". Unconfirmed Reports by Apple leads to much speculation swirling around the iPad Mini name if it will stick as the official name for the new tablet and if they are revamping the Mini being more of a iPad 4 or stick to the new iPad (3rd generation) user interface just in a smaller package.
News Sources proclaim the new tablet to hit store shelves around the time of Fall 2012, so will a miniature sized version of an iPad be to everyone's delight or will die-hard new iPad (3rd Generation) fans stick with what works?
It is evidently a response from Apple due to the unveiling of Google's Nexus 7 and Microsoft's Surface to further secure their foothold in the tablet market as the leading tablet. With the iPad Mini at a mere 7 inch screen compared to its predecessors 9 inch display the Mini could be the answer to tech consumers who prefer the lighter model but with miniaturization of the iPad there is a cost in the means of screen resolution. The Retina Display for the new iPad at a 2048 x 1536 resolution is the first tablet in the world to has such a vivid display on a portable device unfortunately it won't catch on with the iPad Mini which will feature more of the iPad 2's 1024 x 768 resolution.
These days Apple owns more then fifty percent in the tablet market industry grossing well around $60 Billion USD making this particular electronic industry a most sought after market hence the competition from Microsoft and Google.
The iPad Mini will have more likely the new iOS 6 from Apple with the new built-in apps just to name a few, Siri - a vocal responsive app to simply put it asking a verbal question responded by a verbal answer, the Maps app- as the name implies an app specifically for mapping a location with similar functions as a GPS, Passbook app- a scan feature app focusing on the conventional onscreen code for coupons, tickets, and much more.
Apple's new miniaturized iPad will have more then likely a competitive price range of $199 USD to close the gap between the new iPad (3rd Generation) cost of $499 USD and Google's Nexus 7 of $199 USD making a valid bid for the best 7 inch tablet in the market.
Will the iPad Mini scheduled for the Fall 2012 be at the spotlight of the tech market at the time or overshadowed by another contender, if nothing else it will be interesting to see how this will play out for Apple in the tablet race.
With the iPad mini getting smaller and the iPhone 5 supposedly getting bigger when it arrives they may one day meet in the middle from a size standpoint. I am really looking forward to the new iPhone but the iPad mini is tempting also. Good info here in your article. Jay
