With Apple seeking to expand beyond the US borders of the Western Region and into conquering the tech world in the Eastern Region of China with no intention to stop there, Apple takes initiative to secure exclusive rights to the iPad name to a Taiwanese Firm in China costing Apple only$60 million to make the deal. With the iPad name officially under Apple, prevention of bootlegged or "knock-offs" of the iPad from third-party distributors gets knocked out of the tech race in the East.
With China as the second tech market in the world for Apple, the new iPad will only pick up the pace in reaching more people as China is already known as a tech world in its own right so expect consumers in the millions or maybe even in the billions fully knowing the tablet most wanted comes from Apple.
The Guandong High People's Court in China resolved the request by accepting Apple's offer of $60 Million originally according to the New York Times to be an amount of $400 Million but due to present financial concerns they came to in agreement of $60 Million.
According to Taiwan's Shenzhen Proview Technology, Apple used under handed tactic in negotiations with the Court having a representative of Apple in incognito proclaiming to be from a IP Application Development Company with no interest in any competing iPad related product. The controversy behind this ordeal has not at the very least hindered China tech consumers demand for the iPad.
Around the iPad 2 arrival before Apple took action in legitimizing the iPad trademark, reports popped here and there of Chinese tech sellers selling Apple products that had "questionable" backing support from Apple with no concern in a free tech market. Another report mentions 22 accounts of so-called "Apple" Stores turning up in just one city alone, leading me to believe just fuel to the fire for Apple to take action in taking a firm hold on their golden egg of an iPad.
With the new iPad already hitting store shelves in China resolving the "iPad" trademark issue is a huge step forward for the next generation tablet marvel with a tech market in the Eastern Region.Does Apple take the initiative further in legitimizing its claim by creating a fine in false advertisement of so-called "iPad" products in attempt to reel in the false in market iPad knock offs or at this point does the saying "you get what you pay for" be in Apple's corner believing in the consumers judgement call on this one?
Apple and just about anyone out there want to brand their products especially when you have to deal with imitations or boot legs of your name brand product being the case in the Eastern Region but I agree Apple is not doing this out of fear its more of a pride issue for Apple to see cheap imitation's of their products.
