What to do when computer is slow? I asked myself this question the other day when I found myself waiting for several minutes for a single file to open. It is easy to ignore a slowing computer until it get to a certain point. Freezes, random shutdowns, and just plain slow performance are all problems I faced.
I decided to use a faithful tool that has never steered me wrong. A simple one click utility that allowed me to check everything on my hard drive(s) for errors, fragmentation, spyware, viruses, junk files, and anything else that can slow down a computer and then gives me the option to fix them all with one more click of a button.
Now, this program ran slow at first because my computer was in pretty bad shape. I allowed it to run all scans, which took about 15 minutes, and then I clicked the box to fix everything. It defragmented my hard drive and registry, repaired registry errors, removed temporary internet files that were just cluttering up my hard drive, removed spyware, it even optimized my memory and internet speed.
This whole process took about an hour since my pc was in such bad shape. If I run it once a month, it only takes about 10-15 minutes at the most. Well, my pc speed has been greatly improved and I don't have to wait all day for a file to open or for a website to load.
Another great feature included in the program is a resource usage tab and a system advisor tab that allows you too see what is taking up your computers resources and suggest any changes to programs and other tweaks that can optimize your computers performance. I like this ability because I am able to pinpoint what exactly is bogging my computer down instead of guessing and spending hours messing with it.
So, now my computer is running faster than ever, pc speed has greatly improved, and I will be sure to run this excellent utility at least once a month to keep my computer performing at it's best. Not only is my computer running faster, it is free from freezes and random shutdown's as well. I have not found an easier way to make my computer go faster.
There are ways to perform all of these tasks manually, but they are time consuming and are very difficult to perform if your computer is already experiencing all of these issues. I have found several thing that can slow down a computer and have made the appropriate fixes by consulting my system advisor.
