It's a ruff life for many who live in the lower income bracket, but it is worse is to have no money and have bad health. Let's face it, if you don't have health, the rest will falter. There are many people with serious health conditions who still manage to take care of themselves to enjoy a happy life. From my personal experience, my mother is one of the hardest working people I know, powering through a 40 hour work week, having dinner for us every night, and still had time to work out and watch her soaps while raising three kids. To do it she had to be smart financially, plan ahead, and I learned much from her and it has helped me to maintain a healthy lifestyle on a budget.
Keep The Exercise
Walking is one of the easiest things you can do to keep in shape even if you have no money. It may even give you the energy to generate ideas to generate additional income. It makes you more relaxed the house to release endorphins and keep you happy. There are other exercises you can do that can help such is tai chi, qi gong, yoga, Pilates, martial arts, and biofeedback. Do it for least 30 minutes 4-5 days a week, you will feel the difference.
Maintain Good Nutrition
Money and healthy food have always been an issue for families to view with careful consideration. Many families go straight for the rice and beans, as I grew up on this myself. I would suggest using brown rice instead of white rice, and don't load up too much on carbohydrates by mixing it up with peanuts, sunflower seeds, and hormone free eggs. If you go to farmers markets you can find great deals on vegetables that will last you a week or two for sure! I'm a cost conscious person so I know where to get good deals at. Trader Joes has great deals on different foods, just look around the organic section and pick 'n choose. You'll actually be amazed that some of the products are only a few cents to a dollar more for the healthier organic quality.
Healthcare
In terms of access to healthcare there a few community clinics and organizations within your area that offer low cost health services families and individuals who may not be insured and have much funds. Wait times can very at ease locations but at least you're getting service is at a very discounted rate and they're great for preventive is screenings so try to take advantage bank screening early rather than before waiting for a problem to happen.
Alternative medicine is a great option for low income individuals because it focuses on prevention and a holistic health centered lifestyle. Many alternative medicine healthcare providers such as Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, and Naturopaths provide discounted health services for low income families. Call around your town or ask someone you know who may be able to refer you to someone.
Make A Change
If you want more house choices for low income families you have to demand it. We need to start voicing our concerns that we need more healthy, organic, natural, foods to the inner cities. Everyone should have access to affordable health services, great food, and clean parks so that we can go enjoy some of the best natural activities of life. If you take care of yourself when your money is down, you will be in great health and even greater spirit when your money is up.
I've seen many patients in the clinic aging and close to retirement but are experiencing severe pains and ailments which affects their ability to enjoy retirement. I want everyone to age well, live long, and enjoy their earnings from the hard work put into throughout life. So let's take the first step right now, who's with me?
Remember to consult your healthcare provider before beginning any workout program.
