Tips to Maximise Your Chances Of Conceiving A Baby

This post discusses about how couples could work together to increase pregnancy chances. Read further to understand how women can play while trying to get pregnant.

Once you have planned to conceive, go ahead! Delaying this plan should be your last option. There is no rocket science involved in conceiving a baby, but there are a few things you must do to maximise your chances of becoming pregnant.

Here are a few effective tips by experts that may benefit you if you have issues regarding this:

Sex- getting pregnant isn’t possible without it

Experts from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence say, if you have been in a relationship for over a year and have been enjoying unprotected sex, 84% of the couples will conceive a baby. They added, couples don’t have to coincide with the time when women is ovulating, in fact regular sex will have you a baby.

Zita West, a leading fertility expert agrees to the experts from NICE, Fertile time varies from person to person, so pinpointing any exact time may disappoint. Having three times a week maximises your chances of getting pregnant, go for it.

On the contrary, Emma Cannon says, “Not subjecting to the time when women ovulate is about strengthening your sex relationship but not baby, one should look and plan sex if nothing has worked out in a year, it isn’t like ‘anything’ else in your diary – prioritise it!”

Watch your monthly cycle

Going back to the first point, having regular sex throughout the month would do well, but there are some facts that couples shouldn’t miss out. Pregnancy occurs when a sperm meets an egg, and eggs are released when women ovulates which is just a period of about 14 days a month. Knowing this fact, couples should be in contact near to these 14 days. The window is limited, make good use of it.

Folic acid and a check up

Women trying to conceive must take good care of their health. Apart from all nutritional approaches, folic acid is something they may regret missing. Women should take a 400 mcg or 5mg folic acid supplement every day, especially those who are diabetic or have coeliac disease.

If you are trying to conceive, it’s best to start folic acid three months prior before conceiving and continuing for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy that reduces the risk of spina bifida in the developing baby.

Stay up stress-free

Zita West, a fertility expert says, it is important to be psychologically prepared to have a baby or getting pregnant, it is vital.” She explains, “Couples who are busy climbing their career ladders with other things to meet suffer at having an unplanned baby, this adds stress to their lives.” Here, hypnotherapy or relaxation practices may help. Exercises like yoga and Pilates are some of the best things pregnant women could do to get rid of the stress, in fact they can also try acupuncture – it helps!

Guarding your emotional changes and managing your stress levels can do real good to couples who unwillingly try to settle it down.

Say no to smoking

Smoking is dangerous for human health, but do you know that it reduces fertility? It affects the sperm quality and reduces the chances for women to get pregnant. Not just smoking, but passive smoking also affects women’s fertility. So if you are trying to conceive, make sure you are away from it.

Apart from the above mentioned tips, there are a range of pregnancy issues; the sooner you try the better the chances are. If you think, there is any barrier, seek out professional help. Vaginal disorders or uterus problems also lead to infertility.
