Why Those Personal Trainers Who Slag Off Their Competition Are Scared

As a personal trainer I see this all the time, other trainers slagging each other off, saying how “they are not as good as me”, or “they can’t do what I do”.

I personally believe that not only is this, a huge waste of energy, actually caring what others are doing or saying, but also has no benefit to the person that is saying it.

Honestly why would you be bothered what anyone else is doing if you are already so great yourself, the simple answer is you wouldn’t. You would be too busy to notice what anyone else is doing.

So my advice is if you work with any kind of business and they are slagging off their competition, go and check their competition out, because they are obviously doing something right. Their competition are talking about them and why because they are scared of them and what they’re doing.

I actually love the fact that there is competition in my field. I believe there are huge benefits to having a healthy market with plenty of competition.

Over time it drives any competition that isn’t worthy of being in the market out of the market. Why is this good? Well it gets rid of those individuals who slag off the competition, those individuals who are not giving their customers the value they deserve and it leaves the successful companies who don’t care about who their completion are, to create more of a quality product or service in the eyes of the customer

I am seeing this first hand in a gym that I work at, there is forever becoming more and more personal trainers working in my gym. But myself and the other trainers aren’t getting quieter, were getting busier instead. Why because any trainers that are not performing up to scratch leave the gym and the ones that are left are great trainers. It gets better, even though me and the other guys all want more clients every so often, we don’t see each other as competition we now see each other as a team that is expelling a positive reaction on the gym and slowly increasing the percentage of members who would like personal training in the future.

Instead of being like vultures and fighting over a client, improve the service offered in the eyes of the potential customers and make the product or service seem more appealing, therefore increasing the size of your market and the potential to make more money.
