Vacuuming is one of the most effective first steps you can do to start the flea removal process. Vacuum all carpets and furniture in your home very well. You may want to do this a couple times in a row.

Make sure that you throw the vacuum bag in the garbage or empty the bag less canister and rinse it when your finished. Then put the garbage outside, you don't want to leave it in your house because the fleas you sucked up may still be alive, you want them out of your house.

Next you'll want to consider how you'd like to treat the flea problem you have in your home. You can go an all natural route or a chemical route to remove the fleas. You could also combine both together. If you have young children you may want to consider less chemicals because they can be very harsh.

You will need to treat all of your environment and your pets environment to completely get rid of the fleas. This will include the inside of your home, the outside areas of your home. The fleas probably came from your yard originally. You will also need to treat your pets for fleas if you haven't already.
