One of the latest technology advancements in photo booths is that of the use of green screen for backgrounds within photos. Like in the big screen movies a green screen allows backgrounds to be digitally added to a video or photo after it has been taken. But how does the technology work?
Today’s photo booths are run by high powered software packages that control the whole process of having your photo taken. From pushing the button through to sending the signal to the camera, taking the picture and the final print, the software handles all of this in a split second. With advances in this software, manufacturers have been able to add in the ability to control green screens. Users stand in front of the green screen or curtain and take their photo. Once this has been captured the software is able to process the colour of the green and cut out the image of the person (s) to differentiate between the foreground and background. Then the software can then add in the custom backgrounds behind the picture depending on the customer’s choice.
This technology sounds simple, however it is quite complicated to perfect. The latest photo booths out there on the market are able to accurately add in custom backgrounds and make a great option when you look to rent a photo booth. The host can customise backgrounds to a specific theme of a party or give the choice of the background to the user of the photo booth. Quite literally any photo or image can be applied as background so for example you could have a superheroes theme 30th birthday party, then find a company that has this technology and put custom cartoon backgrounds for different super heroes. Guests at your party would have a great keepsake from the night, and make your party the talk of the town.
Green Screen technology enables corporate customers to brand their photos or videos with logos, colours and product images. This is a great marketing tool versus traditional paper based marketing such as flyers as photo booths involve the end user. For example on a product launch of a new energy drink, you could have your photo taken sipping the drink in front of a major landmark in the world or in outer space, all using the green screen. Customers would sample the drink and also get a branded, custom photo to show to friend and family and further promote the brand.
Green screen technology is just one great feature available when you rent a photo booth for your party or event.
