Have you ever seen a fabulous picture but couldn't figure out how that shot was taken? Would you like to have the tools to take photos just like the picture you saw, and even better? I'm meaning photos that make people marvel and admire your photos when they see them. Photos so awesome and spectacular that many people will be awestruck, gobsmacked, and amazed.
Obviously, not just any random person can take a cool picture. Which is why you need to right tools and software if you want to start trick photography. First thing you would need is a DSLR Camera. Make sure that is very high quality with good size mega pixels. You don’t want to have an ordinary digital camera, cause the picture won’t turn out clear and the if the camera shakes, you’ll end up with blurry picture. Where as a DSLR camera it will have a focus setting if the camera had to shake accidentally, it will still turn out clear.
Another thing you would want is Adobe Photoshop. Some of you may have already known this, but for the beginner, it is a must-have. Make sure you get the latest Adobe cause it’s always updates itself manually, and some of the new features on the new Photoshop might not work on the older versions. Photoshop is key for editing and creating special effects on your pictures. How else do you think could you create someone riding a bicycle with no head, or somebody trying to crawl out of a pot, and many other things. The possibilities are endless.
Now these things are only things basic things of what you need. But now the question is, "How am going to take trick photography pictures?"A book had created, and it's called "Trick Photography And Special Effects". Included are three modules to the book, which are basic stepping stones to mastering the special effect technique.
The first module is Long Exposure Effects and Light Painting. This module hardly requires Photo-shop; most of the skills you learn in this module will be done only with your own DSLR camera. In this module, you learn how to take photos in different light settings using different lighting techniques.
The second module is Trick Photography and Special Effects. Here is when you start to use Photo-shop for your photos. In this module, you start to create mind-blowing images and special effective techniques that add drama and surreal creativity for your images. Learn special effects like the optical illusions, spiral images, electrical orbs, glowing fireworks, and many more for trick photography.
The third and final module is the Photo-shop Projects. As you can see, this module deals entirely with Photo-shop. You are able to follow and the tools are super easy to use. You'll discover how to create special effects on images. Stuff like creating multiple people everywhere at the same time, making the "invisible man", and seeing a person levitate high off the ground, and how to make your face into various objects. And if you don't have Photo-shop, Evan will show you where you can get it for a very low price.
I had no idea about that stuff but I learned a lot when I got married. To be honest I thought it was much simpler but it turns out to be a difficult science. Good article Travis but please follow Rob's advise below me...
Nice article Travis... can I make a small suggestion, I like to know a little about a person who's articles I follow and you have nothing down as a Bio on your Profile, why don't you just give a small description about yourself it helps when understanding the articles to which you add your expertness...
