Birthplace Controversy

Birth certificates give us important information and help us to prove without a doubt our lineage, our full names, place of birth, our birth date. They also prove our parents names and can also include the signature of a witness.

President Barrack Hussein Obama's place of birth has come into question over the past few years. There has been some doubt as to whether he was born in Kenya or in Hawaii. This is mainly because his father is Kenyan born. Some people were alleging that perhaps his mother might have obtained false birth document in Hawaii. Based on this controversy, if President Obama were born outside of the USA and its territories he should not hold the high position of president. This is the law of the United States of America.

Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was a white woman and she was born in Kansas. This has qualified her as a United States citizen. She was an anthropologist and was involved working with women and poor people globally. Obama's father, who carried the same name as his son, was born in Kenya and he attended the University of Hawaii.

When Obama's mother was in her late teens and his father was in his mid twenties, She gave birth to Obama on August 4, 1961 at the Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Politicians from both parties raised the question of the authenticity of President Obama's birth place. In the 2008 presidential elections, he used the legal "Certification of birth" and not his birth certificate. This heightened people's suspicion along with the erroneous interview with a family member in Kenya.

In the past several weeks, Donald Trump, a New York real estate businessman, and some others revisted the Obama's birth issue. Their objective seemed to be to find a political arsenal to destroy the president, so that they would be able to compete with Obama in the upcoming 2012 presidential election. The politicians launched a vicious campaign on President Obama for him to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a United States citizen.

The president responded by sending a legal official to Hawaii to obtain his birth certificate so that he would close the mouths of his opponents once and for all and deal with more pressing national and international problems. His birth certificate was made available for the public to see on April 27, 2011.

The birth certificate had all the important features, the place of birth, the date of birth, the mother's name, father's signature and date, and the signature of the doctor who made the delivery, Dr David A. Sunclair and the date he made his signature, August 8th, 1961.

Good job of explaining this issue Winston. My question is all these people that still do not believe President Obama was born in the U.S. Then where is this birth certificate that is from another country?

When I got my New Jersey driver's license renewed, my long form birth certificate, which had always been accepted as legal ID was rejected, and I had to get the new computerized certificate. The "birther" controversy was ridiculous because Hawaii long form birth certificates are no longer valid. They knew they couldn't get away with complaining about him being white, so they complained about him not really being an American!
