Compassionately Of Course; Interpretation In Politics Etc

We choose the way we do because of the way we perceive the world in which we live; and the place we perceive ourselves to have in it. That perception is often crafted from the examples we witness and the way in which they were interpreted. Example and interpretation are powerful allies, and a bad example together with a bad interpretation can be a lethal combination. So too can the good example and the bad interpretation.

The good example and the good interpretation, or the bad example and the good interpretation on the other hand, can be a life preserving and enhancing combination, and it can show that the outcomes of our lives are strongly related to our interpretation quality. If it is good; good things can happen. If it is not good; other things can happen. In simple terms; it would be good if we could interpret well.

It has not been lost on me that the straightforward influence of a bad example upon someone can corrupt the interpretation skills of that person. This is because the one showing the example frequently does not interpret things well themselves. They tend to elicit the negative rather than the positive. They tend to demonstrate self-importance over the importance of others. They see threat instead of opportunity. They react rather than respond to situations. They see problems rather than solutions.

I am not suggesting that the opposite interpretation to the one given is always the better interpretation; however I do conceive that teaching the skill of alternative healthy interpretation could prevent cyclical and generational patterns of destruction happening over and over again. Of course there has to be willingness on the part of the interpreter to learn this skill. Teaching without learning is like giving without receiving. Everything ends up on the ground.

We are justified in believing that our interpretation skills might have been corrupted by the bad example or bad interpretation we were exposed to, yet that is no justification for failing to learn to re-interpret using good interpretation skills. There is only so long the world will put up with our bad interpretations before it begins to police us and cajole us into healthier ways of living.

This dynamic is relevant to the politician, the criminal, the teacher, the student, the bank manager and the borrower etc. It is also relevant to those who choose, elect, vote, decide and debate. Unless there is a presence of illness, injury or condition which structurally prevents healthy interpretation skills, then the badly-interpreting politician, criminal, teacher, student, bank manager, borrower etc, is merely moving towards a collision with their fellow beings due to the balancing nature of life. It will compensate for negativity, self-importance, threat, reaction and problems.

But we must not forget to approach the badly-interpreting being without compassion. If corruption has taken place; bad examples set; then a lack of compassion is likely to result in rebellion which swiftly moves us into violent intervention; Punishment, Penalties and Prevention of liberties etc. Stringing up the tyrant is the act of a tyrant, not the symptom of a well-interpreting soul. But of course, this is merely my interpretation; and I must always be open to the possibility of corruption within my own interpretation skills, or tyranny is not far off for me.

The point is; compassionate interpretation is a healthy tool. It takes courage, resolve and tolerance; yet it disrupts the cyclical patterns that emerge from an interpretation which fails to be compassion driven. That might be the parent-fault - A lack of compassion.  However, life is I am sure, compensating for this. Compassionately of course.
