Anyone who proposes a bill to end marijuana prohibition gets my vote. Introducing such a bill makes me believe Ron Paul actually has an open mind and is not just one of those status quo puppets currently running the show. It’s funny how the economy is crumbling and we are still operating the old way, the same way business has been run for the last 100 years.

What major steps has the government made in order for the economy to recover? The bank bailout? Yeah that worked real well. Didn’t people call congress to let them know we were not in favor of the bailout and they still went ahead and gave Goldman Sachs, AIG and other financial giants billions of dollars!!??

Why does everything the federal government touch crumble? Why does the government keep making the rich richer and the poor poorer? I thought this government was supposed to be by the people, for the people? Yet they’re acting as it’s by the people, for the huge corporations that ran their business to the ground not realizing the consequences of their greed. If the middle class goes to sleep hungry most every night, are you going to give us money so we can go buy something to eat?

They’d (the government) rather give the money to their golf buddies (corporations). God forbid they can’t afford that yacht they’ve been eyeing all season. Problems aren’t solved by just throwing money at it (see the 2008-09 New York Knicks). It seems to me like the current state of the economy cannot be fixed by just throwing money at it either.

Radical changes need to be made. Further decriminalizing marijuana through H.R. 2306 is good start. If marijuana is decriminalized and states deem it legal, we can give the middle class some power back by allowing small farmers to harvest hemp, thereby allowing the consumers to produce. Harvesting hemp would create a wealth of jobs and opportunities. Hemp has been a cash crop for thousands of years and deserves to be put to use again. It certainly needs to be looked at more closely.

How is it possible that a panel of people stand in the way of progress, even with all the problems facing us today? What is the resistance to legalizing hemp? Money, mostly. I think that legalizing marijuana and hemp would jeopardize the profits of many established industries including the drug cartel, the paper industry, beer, and countless many others. The hypocrisy will continue.

The most important thing to remember about hemp is that it should not be associated with marijuana, as it has been for a number of years. Hemp only has .3% THC content and contains a chemical that actually inhibits the THC. Just ask any seasoned informed stoner, they’ll tell you, you can’t get high from it.

So why has hemp been kept a secret for so long? Why is it that so many people are misinformed about the benefits of hemp? Is it because they associate it to marijuana? Maybe, but that just happens to be the motive of the William Randolph Hearst marijuana conspiracy. This is the prototypical example of why the ‘corporation owned government’ conspiracies stay around.

The government has gotten too complacent running the country. They have let big corporations run it to the ground. I think we are coming to the end of an oil based economy and we need to start making preparations to switch to a different form of fuel. We need something that’s renewable, biodegradable and does not produce any pollution. Oh, you’re talking about industrial hemp. That’s right. It’s time for a change. It’s time to vote for hemp. It’s time to vote for Ron Paul.
