I have been following the primaries here in the United States in the run for President since they started and I have a few questions about the results. It seems the showing of support by the people is not followed by the votes adding up for certain candidates. My biggest question is why is Ron Paul being ignored?
Is the press ignoring Ron Paul?
I would have to say absolutely. I would like to share a few things I have run across in my research of this topic and let you be the judge.Ron's first rally was attended by 1600 people, basically more than all the other candidates combined and has increased in numbers to over 8500 attending his rally in San Francisco. Every single state rally Dr. Paul has had in this primary has out numbered his competition 10 fold, and yet we the people have to dig this information up on the internet because main stream media will not report it. Why have these numbers not being reflected in votes?
Is Dr. Paul too radical?
Many say he is, but what does it take to turn around a country with a trillion dollar national debt and a country that is hated more and more by country after country? Many of the things he has been saying for years is coming true, and people are starting to take notice of Ron Paul's message. Am I the only one who is wondering why the national media is ignoring this gentleman? What is the media afraid I will find out? Many questions need to be asked before the general election.
How can I be sure what he really stands for?
I believe if you are going to vote, you need to know what the candidates that are running are all about. There are many ways to find out the real facts about any candidate. You can start by looking up their voting record. This will give you the real facts as to what they believe in.If you hear them saying one thing, and voting for another there is a good chance they might not be who you want to run your country.
Is Dr. Paul too old?
I have heard this argument over and over and I have to ask how old is too old? I feel this is just another deflection to keep what Ron is really all about out of the picture.
Does it sound like I am a big Ron Paul backer? Possibly I am. I do know one thing, this country needs serious change to regain any sense of pride and honor, and so far the only candidate I see out there that is even remotely preaching what it takes is Dr. Paul. I do know his ideas scare the daylights out of the business world and the military, and I have to wonder if those influences are playing a part in what you and I as regular people are hearing in coverage of this election. Any comments?

Shawn, You dug up some interesting facts. Maybe that's fuel for the folks who say big business runs the media? blessings, Cynthia
Not sure it helps you or Ron Paul! Just a sad reality sound bite.
Shawn I agree with you that Ron Paul is being ignored but at the same time I think there is a growing mistrust of mainstream media and more people are turning to the internet to get their news. If the establishment are ignoring him this suggests he poses a threat. If you look at Ron Paul's message which is auditing the Federal Reserve, returning to a system of sound money and reduction of spending on endless wars it becomes easier to see why they might choose to do this. Good article!
Thanks for a revealing article Shawn. I do believe the media is ignoring him because of its liberal bias. Some of his positions are a little scary but it may be time to take serious change in direction.
I agree with what the other comments have said so far. I know a lot of people who are Ron Paul supporters. There is so much info out there it is hard to discern what is misinformation. Even politicians own websites can be misleading. I have thought about looking up their voting track records while they were in other offices. The problem with that is someone may not vote for something because the earmarks are not inline with what the constituents want or there are other reasons. So, that doesn't necessarily tell you what you need to know. It's tricky.
Shawn, I have waited for this article all day with baited breath, knowing it was coming I was interested to hear something on the election from insiders and here I have it. One other author had also written his feelings on the subject and that I had found just as enlightening as this one. One of the observations I have made from this side of the world is just that fact of which you talk. We here are not hearing all sides of the candidates, to an extent this I can understand, after all not all of it is big enough news to reach our shores, yet it appears that they don't all receive equal exposure there by you. Is it possible for the news media to control this? In other words the magnates behind the news media can literally push their own candidate and ignore the rest. I'm sure not all of you have the chance to see and talk to all the candidates, for that matter you might not see any of them. How else then do these candidates get to talked to you all and ensure that there policies are known by all? Is the system not financially driven, with some having more than others? I ask this not in a derogatory way but purely as an outsider interested in the way things are done in the rest of the world. Don't worry I have little understanding how our own system actually works and as results come in after the vote I understand it even less. Great article and I wish more would put their feelings on paper to help us outside to understand the goings on better. Well done.
Sorry to jump in, gentlemen, but you speak of something dear to my heart. Mainstream media is a joke. We are fed propaganda each and every day by the group of people who are supposed to seek out the truth. I refused to watch the news anymore, or read the papers. I will read some internet news, but find most of my news from subscriber groups.
AJ welcome to the page, it is just such comments I expected on my article, the Presidential election is or may be being driven by media and money? Is that what you are advocating?
