How Can I Change My Diet?

We all have our favorite foods don't we? These foods may not always be the best for us but we like them. So we make a decision to go on a diet to lose weight and we need to know how can I change my diet?

For many people it would seem way to stressful to change their diet. We are so in love with the foods we eat. Even though we might realize we are way over weight because we are eating all the wrong foods. This weight I am carrying is going to kill me and I need to make a change.

We all have some foods in the cupboard that are our most pleasing foods and we just don't want to give them up. I can't go without them.

Since when did you like these foods so much? Some folks will drink Vodka straight from the bottle. When did they aquire that taste? Was it as a child? How many children do you know who like to drink Vodka straight?To a child it would taste like poisen. They would need to aquire the taste by tasting a little bit at a time and over time start to like it like others do.

Ah yes the taste of foods we like. Now that we are eating new foods that are healthy we might need some time to aquire a taste for them. Craving the old foods is still something you need to deal with and those cravings will disappear after a time. Just be patient and persist. Concentrate on the new healthy foods and work on aquiring a taste for them. The sooner the better.

These things all take a bit of time. Nothing is a quick fix. I know that is what we all want. It might be hard at first to switch over to the new foods but think of the long term gains in your health and lifestyle you will recieve. It will all be worth it in the end.

Make it easier on yourself by making small changes. Get rid of some foods first and add more as time passes. This will releave some of the anxiety from your new diet and weight loss program. You will see that the new more healthy foods will help you to feel better and not as hungry all the time. Just think that after a while you will like these new foods just as much as the old foods that were no good for you and had a bunch of useless ingredients in them.

You will feel better about your daily life and will notice you have a lot more energy. The foods you now eat have what your body needs and so it can function a lot more efficiently. Your digestive system will run like a charm because it is not working as hard as it was before with the old foods.

So with just a few changes to your diet your whole life has taken on a new meaning. You have a new zest for living and you family and friends can all see not just the outward changes but the inner changes to your attitude and energy. You should be proud and commended on a job well done. Now stay with it.
