The Weight Watchers points per day programs such as the newest Points Plus Program provide an alternative approach to weight loss that fits easily into a members normal routine and focuses on what the member wants to eat, rather than foods they have to eat. Fact is, more often than not most weight loss programs and diets usually make people think of food restrictions and hunger pangs. They may also think of unsatisfying meal replacement plans and alternative home delivered food choices that are very costly and take the fun out of cooking and preparing food for yourself.
Daily Points:
So basically upon joining the Weight Watchers points per day program, members are allocated a set number of points representing the nutritional values of all foods he or she chooses to eat in any 24-hour period. They can eat any foods they choose, but must not exceed the total number of allocated points. To assist the calculation of nutritional values, Weight Watchers has produced a useful calculator that enables the member to input kilojoule and saturated fat contents of food and the calculator works out the points value.
More Exercise = More Points:
Throughout the day, members track the points value of the food they eat. Oh and I’ll mention that they are allowed to add points (i.e. eat more) if they do exercise. The calculator will assist them to work out the number of extra points they earn each day through their exercise programs. Kind of like a rewards system. But you’d have to me mindful of this and not overeat just because your worked out. Besides, exercising to eat isn’t the ideal motivator, it really should be about getting in better shape, feeling better on the inside and the reaping the rewards of a toner stronger body.
Normal Routines:
Using this Weight Watchers points per day tool by tracking what’s being consumed, members are able to engage in their normal daily activities including eating out, eating little treats (often prohibited on most weight loss programs), and generally eating whatever foods they wish but with emphasis on portion sizes and smarter choices for best nutritional value are a the forefront.
Zero Points Items:
I’d like to mention that fruit and vegetables attract 0 points value and may be eaten as often as you like. But not every single item, so be sure to double check, for example other foods, such as potatoes attract high points value. I am curious about certain fruit items too actually. That said, the Weight Watchers Points Plus calculator can help with this. FYI you don’t have to be a paying member to get your hands on one of these gadgets either.
Diet Plan:
The Weight Watchers Points Per Day programs become second nature to those on the programs. Once a member is used to using the calculators and other resources such as points values of foods and recipes provided in Weight Watchers, many of the points values are memorized and calculations for all foods can probably become second nature. Many members simply plan their daily menus allocating points between meals and snacks to enable them to stay within their allowance or grand total.
Weight Loss:
A person who stays within their allowance will lose weight slowly but steadily, reducing the potential for weight gain once the desired weight loss is achieved. A Weight Watchers points per day diet can continue through a maintenance program for those who achieve their goal weight, and this assists the member to continue to keep within their new ideal weight range after they complete the weight loss program.
