You try hard to just sleep, but sleep is just not coming. You are uncomfortable and sleep is eluding you. You might think you may never be able to sleep comfortably again, but rest assured, there is help for you to get your much needed ZZZZZZZZzzz’s.

Sleeping like a baby… yeah right, who came up with that one?!? Some think that being pregnant you would enjoy the best sleep of your life. But with all the changes going on in your body, it does prove to be difficult to actually get some good night’s rest.

You experience seesaw sleeping patterns when you are pregnant. You body is overwhelmed by all the sudden new changes and the new addition and you might always be extremely exhausted even if you are not doing anything at all. During the first trimester, many of us have been known to fall asleep just about anywhere, at any time.

I have to share my personal story on this with you. While at work, my boss would come into my office and while he was talking I would just fall asleep… I am serious, I fell asleep and he would ask me: “What’s going on??? Why are you sleeping??? I am talking to you!” That really happened a few times. Or I would be typing something and when I realize an hour of so has gone and I have no recollection of the time that has gone at all. I figure I was sitting there sleeping.

This does not mean that you are going to float through your pregnancy, sleepless and a little bit crazy for the whole time. The good news is that most of these will just disappear during the second trimester, but it will all probably return again during the last trimester. Your bump will take over your body completely, to such an extent that sleep can become impossible. Or so it may seem to you.

Even though you may be utterly exhausted, all the other pregnancy related changes does keep you from sleeping. One that keeps you running around at night is all the loo runs you have to make. When you are back in bed, you still lie wide awake, you may even be thinking and stressing about any number of things.

Then when you do finally fall asleep, you may then be haunted and disturbed by wild frantic or even fantastic dreams. Even if you are getting a bit of much needed sleep, you will feel worse than before. You do not feel rested, and life becomes hard to cope with, you are short tempered, irritated and you have no energy for the day ahead,

There are a lot of things you can do to give yourself some much needed deserved sleep. There are some natural remedies also a few other remedies you can use to ensure you get some sleep.

Good luck and may you have wonderful restful sleeping nights.

Every single day holds the promise of a miracle.
