Being pregnant with my first child, I realized I didn't know what to expect. I have raised many children, yet the physical experience was brand new to me. I have since read many books and researched, as you are. Of course, I had been experiencing pregnancy first hand during my studies. I will list some items below that have been useful to me, for your convenience.
During the first tri-mester, we just have to get past the tiredness and morning sickness. It will wear you down, at least it did for me. If not, then you're a lucky one. Be sure to get plenty of rest. This is a very important tri-mester for you and the baby. This is when your baby does all of it's primary developing, and will require many adjustments to your lifestyle. Reduce caffiene, eliminate alcohol and cigarettes. This stage is whre your baby would develop any complications. Make sure your drink plenty of fluids and begin taking your prenatal vitamins. Oh yeah, and you may have a lot less patience or seem to get upset easier. Have fun!
During the second tri-mester, you'll have much more energy and the nausia will go away. This is the most enjoyed tri-mester. You start getting round as you gain weight and you will start feeling your baby moving as it grows. You may begin to experience backaches, headaches, and dizziness. Start an excercise program, if you haven't already. You may notice, that your baby has begun it's sleeping patterns, as well. Overall, this will be the easiest.
During the third tri-mester, you will have gained 25-35 pounds. Nausia may come back, but it is rare. You may feel like the baby's going to fall out or numbness in your pelvic region, this is normal. Avoid lifting heavy objects, and get plenty of rest this tri-mester as well. Be sure to plan your hospital bag and have your birthing plan made.
By the time your third tri-mester is over, you will have forgotten all the pain and aggrivations, you've just endured. You'll be overwhelm with joy of the new child you hold in your arms. Please remember to take it easy after giving birth, so your body can rejuvenate and heal. I know this is a life changing experience and I wish you and your family the best. Enjoy your new baby!
