Recognizing Signs Of Ovulation To Boost Your Fertility

Ovulation is important when trying to boost your fertility. This is the time when an egg is released from the ovaries. It’s important that you are able to somewhat predict when this process will occur. Having an idea will help you decide when to have intercourse in hopes of fertilizing the egg and getting pregnant. The following are the common signs of ovulation that you can watch for each month to help you learn when the event is happening.

Perhaps the most obvious physical sign of ovulation is the changes in cervical mucus. This mucus chances thickness, appearance, and consistency as your menstrual cycle progresses. Just before ovulation, the amount of cervical mucus produced will greatly increased. It will be thick and sticky. At ovulation, the mucus will thin out and be very clearly and wet. After ovulation occurs, the discharge will return to the sticky stage and begin to decrease. You can boost your fertility if you take notice of these changes by checking the cervical mucus every day.

Many women find that their sexual desire increases at the time of ovulation. This may be nature’s way of telling a woman she needs to have intercourse if she hopes to conceive a child. This desire typically increases two to three days before ovulation and lasts until a couple days after. The increase comes at a good time for those trying to get pregnant, since this is considered to the “fertile window,” which is when a woman has the best chance of getting pregnant, during the menstrual cycle.

Changes in your basal body temperature are also apparent at ovulation. Most women will notice a 1/10 to 1/2 degree change in their BBT if they monitor their temperature regularly. To be consistent with this, a basal body thermometer must be used. Also, the temperature should be taken at the same time each morning, before eating, drinking, or showering. Additionally, it is important to record the temperature as soon as it is taken to avoid errors in the tracking. Though it will take a few months to gain enough data to use this method to predict ovulation before it occurs, it is easy way to boost your fertility once you get started.

Some women will also experience changes to their breasts when ovulation is occurring. Tenderness or swelling of the breasts may be noticed. These changes are due to the altered level of hormones in the body as it goes through the cycle. It may be difficult to accurately pinpoint ovulation based on these symptoms alone, however. This is because tender or swollen breasts can also be contributed to PMS or a side effect to some fertility drugs.

It’s easy to see there are several signs of ovulation that can help boost your fertility. Educating yourself on how your body works is important if you want to have a child. Knowing what is going to happen each month assists you with having intercourse at the appropriate times so that you can get pregnant soon.
