One small step may be the beginning of many leaps and bounds that can take you even further to the hoped for goal. It is somewhat yin and yang or as some might say, it is bi-polar to speak of steps and leaps in the same breath. Yet our humanity does have a left and a right side, and everyday we witness success as well as failure in business. It is very rare when we notice both failure and success happening at the same time in one company, because the company that is having failures and pushes on is known for its success.
Who doesn’t want to travel on the right side of the tracks when the track is the dividing line between success and failure? A tool that is used only a few times or maybe even just once does not mean that it should be thrown away or forgotten, for you never know when it will come in handy. And if you have many successes and only one failure the failure won't be easily forgotten. It is that very disappointment that lies at the very foundation of your next success.
So to carry on in business, with all probability, there will be both successes and failures. Success is without a doubt the goal and the possibility for failure must not be ignored. So with both poles of the business equation in mind, diversification is your safety net. A broadening of horizons mindset with one goal, when used correctly, will make any failure a success.
When one tactic does not make the promotion grade then move on to another, if one product is not selling, concentrate on the one that is helping pay the bills and then replace the looser for a new beginning. The beauty of eCommerce is the possibility to have more than one website and it is a cheap trouble-free method to use different tactics to promote different products or services in different “stores” with the ability to manage from one central location. If one website is failing and the other is on the winning side you can close the failure down, continue with the winner and open up a new website by trying something new and incorporating what is successful with the winning store.
Of course when you have a winning formula it is possible to concentrate only on that success, yet any business that continues to thrive, grow and expand makes it happen by trying something new. So yin from the past and yang into the future with a bi-polar state of mind, think wide, think far and let failure be your success.
