Beware the Enemy Within, America – Big Business Maybe Your Biggest Threat

A pending patent by Monsanto, for their new invention, the PIG, might just be the last downfall of the farming industry in the USA. With many a farmer already under threat from the industrial giant, due to pending legal action against them by this giant, with patent claims against hundreds of thousands. Now with permission to test GM seed in drought areas on farms belonging to them, the locals can expect the big guns are going after their blood.

I picture the gun fight of the western films, the two facing up to each other ready to draw, one the size of a mountain with a gun the size of a cannon, the other a small man armed with a pea-shooter. The flag's dropped and the big man laughs as the little chap hasn't a chance, one shot from the canon obliterates the area on which he was standing and all that is left is a hole in the ground, empty. Is this not what these giants are doing, trying to obliterate the small man?

The milk industry has already seen the might, power and influence that this company has. Their product rBGH or recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone, that when injected into cows increases their milk production, has had repercussions on not only the organic milk producers but also the labelling of their products. The users of rBGH have found support within the governing body that is doing their best to stop the labelling on milk products that wish to advertise they are rBGH free.

This rBGH a synthetic hormone, based on the natural hormone IGF-1 or Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, is found naturally in Mothers milk and stimulates growth in infants, however this has adverse effects on grown-ups. These effects include breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer, it actually behaves as a cancer accelerator in grown-ups. The farmers that use this product to increase production, have lobbied government in the USA to not allow labelling of non-users milk, the grounds for this, their right of choice.

What of the consumers right of choice? Are we not allowed the same for which they are lobbying? Such labelled products have proven more popular by choice, and it is this against which they lobby. They say this is hurting their profits, the right of the consumer to choose, as well as the producer's right, against their own right, to use and profit there from. Where is the logic in this? The company backing these farmers are not interested in the consumer but only their own profits.

“Death to the drinkers of milk” their motto “Profit is more important”. The mentality shown by the FDA must now be called into question, can basic findings of this nature be allowed passed, a product of destruction equal to an al Qaeda attack allowed to happen? Is this not a weapon of mass destruction, such as that sought by the administration in another country, to which they went to war? Should this product be allowed distribution in third world countries, on the premise it will aid in feeding the masses? Or is it seen as a way of reducing the over population?

This extra labelling is confusing the consumer, according to certain administrators, what, do they think their own citizens are too ignorant to understand? Are the people of America not getting a good education? I consider this a slight against the people who voted them in, and the administrator need be admonished. To select but a few farmers complaint over those of the populace, or for that matter what is good for the populace, a telling reason to investigate who backed their campaigns for election.

The American system of electing officials, seems to me as an outsider, flawed, in that those with the good ideas and the good of the populace at heart, expelled by financial brow beating and backing. It is time that the people all over the world took back the power of governance. Return the power of choice to the consumer, and stop the forced use of products produced by the powerful.

This is the same company that marketed DDT, thought as a wonder chemical in the fight against malaria carrying mosquitoes, later banned. “Agent Orange” a chemical used in the war in Vietnam, later found to have caused terrible health damage within the country but also to the soldiers that fought there.

This same company's been sued and has settle, for damaging the health of their own employees, by pollution and poisoning. Their terminator seed production is making it impossible for small subsistence farmers to grow crops, these farmers rely on keeping seed from this years crop to produce next years, this terminator seed cannot be used, its sterile. Their pollution record, wow, what care has this company for the environment? Forty years of pumping mercury and PCB waste into a river, as well as burying millions of tons of waste into open pits on the side of a hill. Do they think that the paying of $ 700 million in settlements to 20 000 claimants frees them of their obligations?

A major polluter in the USA, a producer of harmful chemicals and biotech. products that need their reins tightened.

Awesome article my friend!! Things have settled down and I will be back to writing starting today. You have touched on something that is near and dear to my heart. Roughly 30% of the curriculum that we are using at BND Uni deals with Monsanto and a few others. Big Agro, containment farming, pesticides/herbicides all have long standing issues and underlying effects that are just now really being understood. Thanks for the article, you will hearing a BUNCH more from me!

Hi Rob thanks for writing on this issue and spreading the word! Monsanto needs to go go! The only way to fight organizations like this is to spread the word and educate the public. Love, peace, and education will help us gain our food back. Great topic

Thanks Carlo, it is not always necessary to fight to have a place closed down but hell if honest testing and honest reporting allowed most of these products would not reach the market, and it would be a safer place for us...

Hate to disagree Rob, but rBGH is used in only 1 out of 5 cows and the American Cancer Societies position is that scientific results are inconclusive. But I do agree that the public should have as much info as possible, especially about food and added chemicals. DDT was a miracle chemical and almost completely eradicated malaria in Africa until it was banned on hype and false premises mostly pushed by Rachel Carson and people who read her book Silent Spring. Agent Orange was terrible and is still effecting veterans today. Nice article.

It is nice to have some one disagree as this is why we write articles of this nature... their are various site expounding different figures as to what you quote.. an Oncologist in our country that my wife sees is in agreement with the fact that this can be dangerous in patients susceptible to cancer development. The funny thing is Linda does not drink milk and I do, she's the one with cancer I'm not, however she appears to carry the brac 1 and brac 2 gene that increases your chances of getting cancer... I am not expounding as a scientist, but this much I can with honesty discuss is the use of their chemicals for disease control on golf courses.. an example.. a fungus is observed and a recommended dose of chemical control applied.. this has an immeadiate effect on the fungi but the residual chemical that lies on the surface will be washed off with the next rain or irrigation, this finds it's way to water courses or surrounding dams where a chemical pollution is now found.. this can build up and become dangerous to anyone drinking or for that matter collecting a golf ball out of it... these chemicals can be extremely dangerous as per the label tagging on the products written for all to see.. yet these are used willy nilly without concern to the environment and those that use it.. There are so many alternate methods of combating these diseases, far cheaper than using chemicals but the demands of golfers call for a quick fix... I have been witness to the incorrect application of growth hormones in cattle and as these are high in estrogen, it will endanger a user who is susceptible to breast cancer, as elevated estrogen levels in can cause breast cancer... My wife is on a hormone block to ensure that all estrogen production in her is stopped... even though with her ovarian cancer (that followed her breast cancer that followed her colon cancer), has totally removed the biggest estrogen maker in the body, she has to have it all blocked to avoid a further flare up of breast cancer which would require their removal... I like them where they are... the reason that most societies are not prepared to give conclusive agreements or disagreements with this is that not enough data has been collect prior to and after the acceptance of these products by the FDA... then the causes of cancer of any type are inconclusive... a cure cannot be found if a cause can not be identified... I just feel manipulating nature is not a healthy way to go, just to increase production and profit for a few.... As for agent orange I don't even want to get started on that product and what it has done to the very people it was meant to aid in a war.... talk of the enemy within...

Just so you know where I'm coming from, I worked in the oilfields for many years and it was one of the best jobs I had. Yet to listen to the media demonize the oil industry I'm surprised I survived. The stuff I read on the oil industry shows that very few of the writers had any idea of actually working in the field. So while I admire your writing and thought my red flag still goes up when I hear "Big Ag", that's all. I've learned to not immediately think corporations or industry as the devil, so to speak. But with your experience and intelligence I think you definitely give food for thought (couldn't resist that pun:)) I also admit that I don't know a whole lot on this subject but I'm starting to learn, from you and other sources. Once again great article and thanks for the response. Joe

joe as a final thought, why did the world turn with such aggression against tobacco, it does not cause cancer but it is provn to increase the risk of cancer in certain people, yet this product that is being used in cattle for milk production is also known to increase the risk of developing cancer in certain people... I won't elaborate further as I am at present penning another article on the very subject....

Rob....take a look at this if you have a moment...go to Youtube and search for "General Motors is becoming China Motors"....As you may know I'm a retired GM worker and have bought GM products most of my life...After watching this video that may change...even Cadillac is sponsoring communist propaganda films...I'm thinking our biggest enemy are the powers in Washington...folks are loosing jobs and they just line their pockets

I have just read a financial statement where the same is happening in Monsanto where restructuring is given as the excuse, yet the CEO sells of late last year $ 11 296 500 worth of shares after receiving a pay packet of $ 10.8 million in 2009, sh.t my heart goes out to him he must really be struggling to survive on that kind of money, all the top are creaming now because they know the collapse is going to happen and they just want to line their own pockets first....

The more I think about GM Cadillac sponsoring a communist propaganda film the madder I get..thought we use to kinda fight that.....the American people footed the auto bailout bill and now are getting the shaft from our own government while all their cronies are lining their pockets...

Hello Rob, I don't know who your resources are, But they're quite accurate. I'm connected to the dairey industry. Monsanto to name one, owns the patent(s) on their seed. They own the seed. Not the farmer. They control the farmer. Without farmers, people in general don't eat. I know firsthand what goes on behind closed doors. It's not pretty. Good reporting! Dave

Hi Dave yes I have some good suppliers of info and then I know what to research for... but my research has now broaden and hell their are all kinds of snakes crawling out of their holes... more articles to come as I have stated below... with a little more home truths for the USA being one of the only developed countries allowing rBGH to be used with one of the liars on the FDA now back with your President as a food safety guru... come on it is so obvious what is happening here... I can smell it in Africa...
