Are you a boy..... or a girl? Back in my day this was an easy question to answer. A boy, is as described by wikipedia ".... a young male human, usually child or adolescent. When he becomes an adult he's described as a man. The most apparent thing that differentiates a boy from a girl is that a boy typically has a penis while girls have a vagina.....". It was pretty simple and straight forward, but as time went by things got a bit more complicated. As is evident in the continuation of this definition "....However, some intersex children with ambiguous genitals, and genetically female transgender children may also be classified or self-identify as a boy."
Soooooo I am what I want to be? Now I understand the intersex (many of us know it hermaphroditism) situation, which is a group of conditions where there is a discrepancy between the external genitals and the internal genitals (the testes and ovaries). Of this you have no control, so I do understand the complications and confusion that would come with discerning which side you're on.
Now on to the genetic modifications. I believe that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made, and that God made no mistakes, including with our genitals. Besides, things that are genetically or in any other way modified are usual not good for our health, GMO foods and plastic surgery ( disfiguration, seroma, skin death etc) for instance.
On the other hand, some of us skip the surgeries and simply self-identity as the sex we want to be, basically the rule of thumb is you are what you feel like. Well sometimes I'm so happy I feel like I could fly, but that sure doesn't mean I can. It's okay to be a girl who likes doing what society deems as boy things, that used to be called being a tomboy (which I'm guessing means being a fake boy or something) and it's okay to be a boy who likes doing what's deemed as girly things. But I don't think it's okay to go messing around with perfection (you).
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate anybody, this is simply my opinion, I can disagree with you and still LOVE you . Furthermore I do understand the desire to want to be the opposite sex. When I was little I really wanted to be a boy, I thought they got to do cooler stuff, and as I got older, I wanted to be a boy because they seemed to have life easier, and got to act like a child without being judged for longer. But now (I'm 20 years old) I've embraced my femininity and I loooove the perks of being a girl.
Though I have heard cases where children as young as 6 years old attempt suicide because they believe they were born in the wrong body. And I am viciously saddened by situations like this, I really don't know what I would do as a parent in this situation. I must stand by what I believe, and that is we are all the way (physically) we were meant to be. Not to mention, there are advantages on both sides.
Advantages of being a girl: You're awesome
Advantages of being a boy: You're awesome
Love yourself the way you were made, because that's the way you were meant to be and YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.......... OR HANDSOME :)
