The term “juggernaut” refers to any group of people, organization, or team capable of crushing any opposition. In other words, a juggernaut is a very powerful entity.
In our corrupted world, a modern day juggernaut demands blind faith and obedience, to the exclusion of individual rights. It is not merciful and it takes no prisoners.
We have many examples of juggernauts in our world today. Powerful entities are ruling, and in many cases, ruining our lives.
How do we protect ourselves from juggernauts? Is reform the answer? New laws? Wouldn’t it be nice if these people considered the long term effects their greed has on the populace, and wouldn’t it be even better if they cared?
How do you instill conscience in a corrupt and greedy person, let alone a giant conglomerate?
This is the reason we humans have instituted laws and have governmental agencies to enforce those laws: to protect the rights of the individual as well as the masses. Is this suddenly an out-dated concept?
In the world we live in, I feel almost naive writing those words. Corruption has reached a level that I have never seen before. Is it because of technology that everything is exposed? No one can hide? Has this degree of avarice been going on for centuries, but we were not as aware? Or is it worse now than ever?
Do we not all have a right to survive and prosper? Why do certain elite few think that they are the only ones who matter?
My grandfather was a very wise man. He was a hard working, successful businessman and a real humanitarian. He said that a person can eat only one meal at a time and sleep in one bed at a time. He had his priorities in the right places, and his ambitions were well balanced. He was prosperous himself and wanted others to prosper. What’s with the unbridled frenzy and need to control everything, so prevalent in the world today?
There are juggernauts controlling our food, drug, and health industries, juggernauts controlling our fossil fuel industry, juggernauts controlling the entertainment industry, Juggernauts controlling our financial institutions, juggernauts controlling our political institutions.
Our health industry is corrupted by greed. Drugs are ridiculously over-priced. A person being treated for cancer using the prescribed method of treatment: chemo and radiation- can easily rack up expenses of $100,000 a month, or better. If a person chooses an alternative method of treatment, his insurance will not cover him, even though the cost is dramatically less, and in my opinion, more effective. What pressures are brought to bear on the medical profession and insurance companies that create this inequity? Who sets the standard? Easy, “Big Pharma” is a juggernaut. The FDA is a juggernaut. Don’t believe that your health and well being is their priority. Profit is their motive.
I have done extensive research into the pharmaceuticals and FDA practices regarding cancer and cancer cures, and am shocked by what I have learned. Scientists and doctors have addressed cancer as far back as the late 1800’s. Yes, independent scientific research on cancer has been conducted for over a century. Important discoveries have been made, and malicious attempts to cover up these findings have occurred throughout.
Why do you think we do not yet have a cure for cancer? Cancer is big business.
Cures will only be approved if the pharmaceutical companies can obtain a patent so that they can “manufacture” a product, even directly from nature, and charge outrageous prices for it.
There seems to be a hesitance to use the word “cure” for cancer, at least in the United States. In that many experts consider cancer to be a chronic disease, therefore not curable in the classic sense, the word “resolved” is favored over “cure”.
Who pays for greed? Answer: You and I, in every imaginable way. The cost of chemotherapy, radiation, and CT scans is outrageous. Insurance companies pick up most of the cost, and then everybody’s premiums go up.
There are instances when a prescribed drug can help to heal the patient. But the practice of dispensing drugs is much abused. I was shocked to discover that doctors actually have quotas to meet.
Let’s look at the agricultural crisis in the US and the entire world. Our farmers are being victimized by greedy big conglomerates such as Astra Zeneca, DuPont, Monsanto, Novartis, and Aventis. Farmers are being bankrupted or are barely getting by. The suicide rate amongst them is three times the national average.
Our farmers are suffering from a globalized economy that rewards people with no allegiance to place. In other words, farmers are not able to supply food for their local communities, as in the past.
Globalization has caused farmers to produce the food they can produce most cheaply, to be offered in the global markets. Local food is brought in from some other place.
The export driven global economy is leading to the small farmer’s demise. They cannot make a decent return on their investment.
While our farmers are being squeezed out, CEO salaries in the food industry are soaring. And the people who prosper are brokers who scour the entire world for the highest return. They move their money from country to country at laser speed, while looking for cheap labor and a better deal. Farmers can’t do that. They’re bound to the land. Another juggernaut.
Because of lobbying, our politicians are supporting those very juggernauts who are exploiting the small farmer.
What about fossil fuel?
Conspiracists speculate that the reason we do not have an affordable alternative to oil is because the oil and coal industries are buying up inventions and patents. Also, it is thought they are threatening the very lives of the inventors. And governments are being controlled by these industries. Another juggernaut, perhaps?
President Bush used to say Americans are addicted to oil. We need energy, and we haven’t had any viable alternatives. With all due respect to Mr. Bush, I think addiction is not the proper word. Are we addicted to air?
As a side note, there is a promising possibility on the horizon known as LENR Technology (Low Energy Nuclear Reactions). I’m usually nervous when radiation is involved, but admittedly, I know nothing about it. An Italian inventor, Andrea Rossi has developed a home fusion unit which is capable of heating a whole house for years. From what I’ve read, NASA scientists are enthusiastic about it. If it comes about, it will revolutionize the energy industry. It will also change life for the countries whose only export is oil. Will this innovation go the way of the rest?
How do these monopolies or juggernauts get away with their greed?
It’s because we, the people have not been looking, not attending our store. We have trusted our large institutions, and they let us down. Now we have to grow up fast and take back what is rightfully ours.
I’m all for prosperity, but not at the expense of another person or our planet.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are our inalienable rights. We can weigh in to make sure that balance is restored to our economies.
No juggernaut can stand up against a strong, committed, well-informed public.
Very great article Joan! I just wish people would wake up and realize what is going on right under their noses! Or do most people not even care anymore that they are being ripped off, lied to, and pretty much bullied into buying what these big corporations and industries want us to buy?
Thanks Sherry. I think many people are finally awakening to the bully tactics. We have to take action. We also have to take responsibility for ourselves. Our food supply has been contaminated by Monsanto. We've been eating foods that cause cancer and all kinds of physical maladies. We love dairy products, but the rise in breast cancer has been attributed to rBGH and rBST (bovine hormone) that is being injected into cows. The hormone was created by Monsanto, and our government is doing nothing to protect us. So buy "no rBST" dairy. There is so much going on, including the technical ability to change weather patterns. Are they doing that? Why wouldn't they? Thank you for commenting.
What an inspiring article Joan! We could just talk about it for days!
Good article Joan, one that says it all, how do we take back the reigns when the bodies that are there to protect us are as corrupt as the big business. For that matter the very Government that we the people voted into place are just as corrupt. An international problem, where money controls all though and practice, "how can I benefit?" the driving force behind everything and every decision made today. No longer do we have the public in consideration when it comes to approving a product. The "Backhand", "Rear hand grip" ,"Hand in back pocket" these are what count, and top management approves because the more profit made the bigger their bonuses. As for Cancer, one of the biggest profit making business, competing with oil and Monsanto. I agree with your research, a cure was found long ago, when our older generations cure it with correct eating and basic every day products available, (cheap body pH products and good air to breath {oxygenation} ) yes that's all it needs, unapproved by the FDA as Cs is obtainable for approx 1c per daily dosage, who would make money out of that when they can make a million a day from chemo? Its tragic that we as humans have no meaning in life to big business, sacrifice the person for our financial gain, the policy... We fought a war with such a person, who felt the world would be better if a certain race was eradicated.. big business thinks the same way, kill the people as long as we earn... Should we not therefore go to war against the corrupt lot?
There are many kinds of war. Don't have to kill anybody to run the scoundrels out. Bringing them out into the light of day, showing the cockroaches for what they are, will engender public outrage. There are enough of us feisty types around to make sure our freedoms and values survive. Like you Rob, I've been reading stuff that makes my hair stand straight up. They use the excuse that bringing in new technology for energy, or curing cancer will upset our economy, because of the money generated by these industries. Well, our economy is crashing anyway. It doesn't have to be failing. I wonder whose fault it is that things are failing. We don't have real leaders. We have greedy gusses.
The very fact that we have to pay so much for all these items is not generating a healthier economy, if anything its creating the crash. Money is only going to one institution instead of being spread across a good cross-section of businesses. The greed of one is the demise of another and I can't see how this is getting the backing of different governments. They are being forced to stimulate the economy with the poor man's money whilst the rich companies pay less towards it than us, and it is the very enrichment of these companies that is killing the economy. The more we write the more it's read the more we enlighten the multitudes, so keep on penning my dear friend, lets take the war of words to them.. Maybe we can start a article revolution, that gets all our followers to respond, and in the end the Internet is bombarded with articles showing others what is happening... Forward with the movement Joan, you might just be interested in an Internet group nationofchange have a google look at their site, I've subscribed and find their articles a hive of information....
They're getting support because they're buying people off. Follow the money. And they're ripping the public off right and left. These greedy world dominance monsters want to make us dependent on them for everything. That's how you control people. Not only will they have a monopoly on an industry, they want to own everyone on the planet. It's so ugly. They call it the New World Order, Global Economy, Global Rule. All intended to imprison humanity in the name of power and greed. Thanks for the Internet group Rob. I'll check it out.
I like how you wrote this article with such bravery, Joan - it shows your good values as a person. I think greed and hunger for power are always in the minds of these juggernauts - they always miss the true meaning of life, which is to love others. I should say that this type of unkind attitude will always be blamed on their childhood upbringing.
Thank you Lemuel. We not only have to speak up, but we have to make sure others are aware of what is happening. It's much more comfortable to pretend it isn't real, but pretending won't make it go away. I f we stand our ground, together we can change things. It's not bigger than we are. It's nasty business.
Very well written article Joan. Your grandfather sounded like a great man.
Very informative. I had no awareness of this - not even the word juggernaut. Thanks!
Joan, Sometimes the truth stings when you face it. I think the majority of we Americans can deal with our local problems as it affects us. But, good honest hard working folks,(like myself) don't know we've been dupped untill the damage is done. Then we become angry and resentful. To attack an enemy that you do not know, you have a 50/50 chance to win or loose. Not good enough odds for me. Education, education, education. We have to push ourselves to understand what it is we are confronting. Have we forgotten our founding fathers who broke brittish rule. They risked it all. Will we? Here's to the United States of America.
Here's to us and to the world Dave. This planned Global Order is intended to enslave the entire planet. It's not new either. It started with the giant central banks: the Rockefellas, the Morgans, the Rothchilds, the Carnegie's, and the big European banks. We've been supporting them through our Federal Reserve and interest bearing loans. All that money we pay on mortgages and on credit cards is a big game they're playing with us. And our tax dollars bailed them out after they put us all in jeopardy. Makes me so angry. Have you watched "Thrive"? Gamble lays it out for us. He connects the dots and offers a message of hope at the end, plus what we can do to turn it around. I wrote this article because it's important to get people to start thinking about what's happening and to take action. By educating ourselves, we will know the enemy and not play into its hands. We outnumber them and are capable of outwitting them.
Great article Joan you seem to hit all the right places, and yes it is unprecedented the greed in our world. You mention that we have agencies to take care of what we are subjected to, the watch dogs of society. What do you do when the watch dogs need watching themselves, who is going to watch them? I wish I had the insight to see this bad karma all go away, but I fear not, as it is to much a part of everyday life. I could go on for hours I am sure and that is just the injustice that is going on in my country of Canada, and we are a civilized country (sure we are). Oil over health the economy over health, no matter where it is made as long it is made and the government gets there cut. A retired policeman fights for his life in Ontario needing a drug to save his life (cancer) that our humane (thought so at one time) government sees fit not to let him have here in Ontario, to bad for him he dies. Is this a government for the people I think not, our government is one of the worst contenders of greed and self absorbtion. Do they work for the people they serve or do they work to serve themselves, I think the latter. Injustice has hit every walk of life government right to religion (don;t get me started on that big lie). All this talk about our food supply is about scary as it gets, article in our paper the other day, "How do I Learn bout Pesticides on my food". I have heard it said to ask your grocer where they come from and how they were grown, try it ans see how far you get, done that been there in a few stores, they think I am nuts, they have no clue. Amazing how many foods that they say are laced with pesticides. then they recomene organic alternatives, makes sense, double the price, most can't afford the pesticied crap how can you pay more for organic. Is it not our right to have accsess to pottable water and decent food at least. Our way of life is slipping away at a rapid rate, for most of us not all. How strong is your pension this year? To listen to our politicians (our leaders a joke) you would think all is just rosy, all those jobs that they created, not mentioning they were working poor jobs, lies on top of lies they are all the same. I have been through many elections and they all seem to end up the same way, they (politicians) tell us the people on how much we must give up to get things back on track, but not them just us.
Sounds just like the States, Tim. And our watch dogs definitely need watching. They are pawns in a very big ugly game, and they are prospering by it. Honest politicians are having a mighty hard time, if they're able to get in at all. Have you seen the documentary "Thrive"? Kim just reminded me to see it. It was made by Foster Gamble of Proctor and Gamble family. He spells out what is going on globally to enslave all of us. Watch it from beginning to end because he lays it out, then offers a message of hope and renewal at the end. We can change things Tim. We need to support each other at this crossroad.
