What Is Our Government Coming To?

What do you think of our government, what kind of people do we have running it? It would appear that it is a bunch of crooks, theives, and sex addicts? It is possible that it would be a good thing for them to have to shut down.

They obviously do not know how to budget the billions of dollars that they are getting from the tax payers, which is me and you.

Every time that you turn around, they are in the news about not paying their own income taxes, or about having an affair with someone, and how much money they have spent on their mistresses. The money that is not their own, but government money.

They vote to increase their pay, and take time off for vacation, before reviewing or passing some legislation that may be of great importance to the taxpayers. Yet, we as American workers, are unable to get raises, they want to tax us even more, so they will have more money. More money to do what with, buy another house?

They want to cut social security benefits. Why doesn't the government start in their own backyard. Why don't they cut their own ridiculously huge salaries? Why don't they stop giving themselves bonuses? After all, their pay and their bonuses are coming from our tax dollars.

The government does not make any money itself. We support the government, that is why they keep wanting to raise our taxes. They have a honey pot, and they can't seem to stop digging into it and spending the money for unnecessary things for themselves.

The government has become a very greedy and corrupt organization. It has become too big for it's own good, and for the good of the people. The government is supposed to be by the people and for the people. The government has nothing to do with the people anymore, which is me and you, except to keep attempting to rob us blind, by taxing us to death.

They are giving our money to other countries that don't need it. One example is Japan. Japan itself has stated that they are the richest country in the world, yet we are sending them aide. Yes, it is a horrible thing that has happened over there, and it is also something that could happen here as well, but who has come to our aide, in all of the disasters that we have suffered, even this year.

I am unsure if Japan is supposed to pay the United States for our help or not, but you need to take into consideration the expense of what we did for them. I also do not know if we have provided them with money, because obviously, they don't need it.

What we did that I do know of is that we, the U.S. Government sent ships to Japan with food and relief supplies. Now, those supplies and food were not free to the U.S. We also have to furnish the fuel for the ships and helicopters that were used. Also, the Navy and the Marines, not to mention other military forces that were used, this also was expensive. So, is Japan paying for all of this aide?

I don't have anything against helping others, but I feel that charity begins at home, not thousands of miles away. We have homeless and hungry here, and all of them are not there by choice.

I feel the same way. If we created a salary cap for all public servants and bureaucrats that was the same as the American "average" yearly earnings, i.e. somewhere around 25k per year, and made them wear robes of office to remind them who they serve (no more $8000 suits, Mr. President...), it might be a step in the right direction. I wonder how long it would take for the "average" yearly earnings of all us wage-warriors to hit 100k per year if THEIR salary was dependent on our wages rising? They should live no better than the worst of those they serve, PERIOD, in my opinion. This is not a kingdom, they have no "right to rule", and they need to be put in their place. "Down with the bloody Big Head," as the Mad Hatter says. Cheers!
