Why Ron Paul?

With the Iowa caucuses just two weeks away, Texas Congressman Ron Paul has taken a surprise lead for the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination. Public Policy Polling shows Paul leading 23% to 20% over former MA governor Mitt Romney and blowing away former front-runner Newt Gingrich who has collapsed to just 14%. The former Speaker of the House has been barraged with negative ads attacking his stance as a conservative and lack of strong principles. The disenchantment with Gingrich has Iowans taking another look at the field. Why Ron Paul? Rep Paul has an effective organization in the state and voters are liking what they hear about his views.

Why Ron Paul? And What Are His Views?

Ron Paul has never waivered in his principles since he first ran for President as Libertarian in 1988. He is a tireless defender of our Constitutional liberties, best known for his "hands off" non-interventionist foreign policy views, advocacy of a strong dollar and end to the Federal Reserve system and support of a balanced Federal budget and low taxes.

Defense Not Offense

Rep Paul points out that the over 700 US bases in 140 countries and pre-emptive foreign wars have bankrupted our country and stirred up animosity among billions of foreigners, particularly in the Middle East and Central Asia where hot wars have been raging for a a decade. It is NOT a popular view with either party, the media or the now millions of Americans that make their living on defense and security contracts. Whatever your point of view on the morality of imperialism, the funds and borrowing capacity to continue occupy the planet will soon run out.

Iran Is Not a Threat

Ron Paul is adamant that Iran is no more a threat to the US than was Iraq or Bigfoot. The US has a long history of meddling in Iran with horrific blowback, beginning with the 1953 overthrow of the democratically elected president of Iran to install their own asset Shah Reza Pahlavi. The hated Shah was overthrown in 1979 in the largest popular uprising in world history and shortly thereafter the Islamic Republic took shape. Yet the US thinks despite failures like this it can install preferred leaders anywhere in the world!

End the Fed

Americans pay their bills with "Federal Reserve Notes" which they'd be surprised to learn are debt instruments issued by the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. The actual owners of the Fed are 12 international banks who charge the Treasury interest on what should be its own currency. Created in 1913 and specifically charged with maintaining the value of the dollar, the Fed has failed utterly, presiding over a 98% loss in value since then. Rep Paul was instrumental in creating legislation to finally audit this sinkhole for countless trillions of taxpayer assets.

Why Ron Paul? He's Telling You the Truth!

Ron Paul is not an orator, a pretty boy or funded by defense contractors, Big Pharma and Wall Street. He's an American who loves his country and the Constitution. And he's telling the truth about America's problems and how to solve them. Take a look - you'll like what you see and hear.
