What does it mean that the Wisconsin high court upholds the collective bargaining law limits? It means that the average civil servant in Wisconsin now works for a tyrant who will choose how much he or she makes, the working conditions, length of contract, pensions and so on.
It appears that the more in hock the governments get, the more they take it out on those who are the most valuable to us like nurses, police, fire fighters and so on. Is it just me or does it seem that the most inept people are elected to run our governmental affairs? Why is it they can't seem to predict upcoming lean times? My old mama, God bless her soul, who only spoke French and couldn't read much of that could figure out that crunches were coming up in her family's life.
What it means when the Wisconsin high court upholds collective bargaining law limits is that there is no freedom in the free economy. The average family who has to repay student loans for the educations it took to get many of these civil srvice jobs will now have to do so with whatever the people in power agree to hand out to them.
Government officials are relying on the other people in society to back them up. Many see "swivel servants" as overpaid and under worked. I'm sure there are some, but tell that to a firefighter or policeman risking life and limb to save someone else's. The teacher caring for a troubled child is no less valuable to society.
The bottom line in all this is that people should try to think "outside the box". When the high school guidance councilor, teacher or parent suggested that the young person get an education and be set for life, they meant well, but those days of security are gone. There are no more cradle to grave jobs. The job that is secure today will be contracted out to someone overseas for a wage that one of our convenience store clerks would turn her nose up at. Even worse, they won't contract it out , but freeze the wage like is happening in Wisconsin
In the old days, people would rally together and pull up their socks. The same is true today, but people now have the option of building up their own security from home. Things are in place on the internet that allows free people to build their own version of security.
Technology is costing us jobs and causing a lot of headaches for society. On the other hand, those that change their thinking, will change their futures. Albert Einstein once said, "Problems cannot be solved by the same mind that created them".
True. I wonder if the politicians will put a cap on how much a private person can earn? Will they dare try?
