Well I really didn't think it would work but my doc gave me some patches to help me stop smoking and you have 3 Steps to do it in. The first step you get patches with 21mg nicotine and you take this for 6 weeks, which I did and apart from scrathcing slightly I managed it.
Then Step 2 you get patches with 14mg nicotine and you do this for 2 weeks then the final step is 7mg patches and you also do this for 2 weeks.
I also got an inhalator which you plug cartridges of nicotine inside them and you inhale on this if you feel uncomfortable it is no bigger than a cigarette itself, the cartridge has 10mg nicotine inside them and I have to say the times I did feel I needed to use it, it did feel like I had smoked a cigarette after it. I hardly ever used this device but I do recommend you getting this along with your patches, as for the patches there are quite a few on the market your doctor can advise.
And here I am 13 weeks after and still not touched a cigarette I can offically say I am a non-smoker now haha, and it feels so good I can breathe and I can taste my food instead of smoke I really do feel 100% fitter.
Firstly I do believe I was in the right frame of mind to do this and ready to stop in the first place, which I believe you have to be in for it to work, I have found this very easy and I smoked from the age of 14yrs I am 45 now! It may all go wrong for me and this is just a blip this is my first time at quitting but I don't think so, now that I've not had a cigarette I don't want one to be honest don't want to pollute my lungs again, I can walk farther and keep up with my dog now so I have made things easier just by not smoking a cigarette they really are a health hazzard unfortunately its not till you lose people you love that you realise this!
So well done me and well done patches they work folks so go on give it a try if I can do it then so can anyone believe me just a pity they don't have patches for other addictions!
