Are you looking to make the switch but you're not sure how to compare electronic cigarettes? Let me help you with that by explaining the things you need to be looking for in an electronic cigarette review.
There are 4 main factors that are going to help you make your choice.
- Taste
- Throat Hit
- Vapor Output
- Battery
The taste is a very personal thing and there is really only one way to decide if you like the taste of a specific brand and that's to try it for yourself. There are ways to find out which ones you're more likely to like tho. Listening to someone who has tried them and can gauge the quality is one very important way you can do this.
Some flavors are designed specially to make it easier to switch from your current brand of tobacco cigarette to an electronic cigarette and these are almost always listed on the brands website.
Throat hit is another very important factor to consider. For some reason many people have this automatic idea in their heads that the harder the throat hit the better but this is just not true for most people. Some throat hits are designed for full flavored smokers while others are geared towards a medium or light smoker.
Some of this can be fine tuned with the level of nicotine you order (the more nicotine the harder the hit) but some of it is just in the brand it's self.
I would like to talk about Vapor Output for a second. This is another one of those preconceived ideas I have seen many people have, they always seem to think more is better but I have found this to not always be the case.
Obviously you want a nice amount of vapor which any of the better quality electronic cigarettes are going to offer but sometimes to much vapor output is just that, TO MUCH. If you're a medium or light smoker you're likely going to find a slightly smaller vapor output to be just fine.
Again this is only to a point, you definitely want a decent amount of vapor but don't make that your sole focus when shopping, take it from me if you do it's likely to be a real disappointment.
The battery is one of those things you have no idea how important it is until you start trying some different brands but let me assure you it is one of the most important things there is.
You will want a battery that last a decent amount of time but more importantly you want a nice strong battery. The reason for this is the stronger the battery is the the faster it will heat up the heating element (atomizer) which means more vapor with less puffing.
One thing I can't stand is having to huff and puff to get a hit, you should be able to draw on it like you would a tobacco cigarette and get a nice even hit.
There are several other factors you may want to look at when shopping around but these four are really the main ones in my experience that determine whether someone likes a brand or not so keep these in mind when reading electronic cigarette reviews.
I hope this will help save you some time and trouble, thank you for reading please leave me a comment below
Some people say that sales from electronic cigarettes may very well surpass sales of tobacco cigarettes in the next 10 years so let's hope so
Its nice to see some technology get good enough at duplicating the experience to draw people away from the highly addictive and detrimental effects of tobacco. It is also very revealing to see how threatening the cash flow of government lobby by the tobacco industry has caused such a blatant backlash.
I cover a little more about that in my blog but you have no idea how right you are about that, why else would these little things be getting so much resistance from the govt when it's obvious they are better for you than cigarettes and they really do help people quit smoking and that's just from my own personal experience, many others will tell you the same. Now the tobacco companies are starting to get into this market but that scares me because the tobacco companies have already got the FDA to approve some 600 chemical additives for tobacco cigarettes most or all of which are designed to make cigarettes more addictive which is why people need this step to make quitting easier, next they will get the FDA to approve additive to e cigs for the same reason. I am on the look out for this and if happens I will be the first to make sure everyone knows about it.
Like your explanation of importance of a good battery. Makes more sense now. thanks
The battery is one of those things people don't realize how important it is until they start to try different brands but in fact it is one of the most important factors when choosing a brand
Thank you for opening my eyes to this little gadget. I've been tryin to quit for ages and people have said to use these but i've always been abit worried about them. No longer after reading this, I think an electrical cigarette could be the answer to me quiting.
I've had a couple puffs on one and since then its put me off as it tasted horrible but now I know what to look for in one I'm thinking a lot about buying one
I will be honest with you, none of the electronic cigarettes are going to taste exactly like a real cigarette but some of the different brands are better than other and for the more discriminating connoisseur there are some really good e liquids out there i am working on bring them to my website but the first thing you need to do is get an e cig that has all the qualities you're looking for and then you can add whatever flavor you want to it. Do you remember what brand it was that you tried?
No i'm affraid i dont, all i can rememeber is it had a green glowing light at the end and looked like a real cigarette, sorry it dosnt help much. Ive seen people with those liquid ones but never had a go. Are they the ones which are see though? Would you advise them to be better for me?
It depends on whether or not you like the stock flavor, I love the south beach smoke flavors myself it's my fav brand but you just have to try it and see if you like it, if not you may want to try some of the liquid. I will try to get some of the liquid on the site soon but just start with finding a brand that has a good throat hit, vapor output and battery then you can find your flavor from there.
I wish I could get my son interested in your articles. I'm not sure how much improvement this is over the real thing but it would be a start for him to quit
well considering tobacco smoke contains more than 7k chemical compounds something like 600 of which are known for a fact to cause cancer and don't come in a 0mg nicotine option whereas e cigs have none of this and do come in a 0mg option I think e cigs are a much better alternative and even tho FDA has not approved them as a quit smoking device I know many people personally who have quit smoking successfully with e cigs. Maybe you can give him one as a gift, it's been my experience that most smokers know they need to quit and want to they just don't think it's possible. If he refuses to use it you can always return it and get your money back minus the carts which you can not return.
Please let me know how it goes. I hope you can get him to at least switch or better yet I hope it leads to him quitting
everyone knows that cigarettes are bad for them, they just think they can't cope without them (not true) or that they enjoy smoking (also not true), getting your son to try electronic cigarettes should be fine if you point out to him he can keep the "benefits" of smoking while losing the negatives!
Getting him to try them should be easy enough I just hope he will use it to quit rather than just switching but even that's an improvement.
