The Best Way To Quit Smoking- Its Worth It

The best way to quit smoking in my opinion is to pre plan. I say that because thats what worked for me. This article will actually tell you a little story and then you can decide if this is the right time and the best way to quit smoking.

I knew my time had come. I knew I wanted to quit but I also knew I was a two pack a day smoker who had been smoking for 30 years. So I knew it was time to quit but I wasnt foolish enough to think things were going to be easy.

Well I had no clue what the best way to quit smoking was going to be for me but I knew I had to get started. About 90 days before my birthday I started telling myself and everyone around me that I would quit smoking on my birthday. I told myself this at least 10 times a day and I told everyone around me so that I could be held accountable in case quitting didnt quite work.

By the time day 80 rolled around I was wishing for day 90. It seemed I really wanted this to happen. However I decided to stick with the original plan and keep smoking until my birthday.

After 90 days my birthday arrived and the day I would attempt quitting also arrived. I still didnt know the best way to quit smoking but somehow I was going to try. I had about half a pack when I woke up and decided that I may as well finish smoking what I had. So at noon I smoked my last cigarette.

The first three days werent as bad as I thought they would be. I was able to get through by chewing on nicotine gum and taking a few puffs an hour off my nicotine inhaler.

Day three came around and I still wasnt sure of the best way to quit smoking because on this day I became very grumpy and honestly thought by afternoon I would once again be lighting up. Well my wife went out and got me an electric cigarette which was all I needed to get over the hump. For the next few days I continued chewing on the gum and taking drags off the electric cigarette. However by day seven I threw all the aids away and I continued to be a non smoker.

Over a year and a half has now passed and I am still a non smoker. So I guess for me I have figured out the best way to quit smoking. The time has come for you to stop smoking so do it.
