Tried Everything But Cannot Stop Smoking? A Psychological Approach To Quit Might Help

Many who want to quit smoking wish they could do it every day of their life. But they cannot stop smoking even if they tried very hard. So what is the best way to quit smoking for them now? This article will offer suggestions to some of the best quit smoking products and hopefully they will help them kick the habit for good.

I Tried Many Aids But They Don't Work For Me.

This is because health experts have known for years that the best approach is to tackle both the physical addiction to nicotine as well as the psychological addiction to smoking. As you can see and experience for yourself if you are a smoker, most of the solutions failed because they tackle only the first part and leave the second part unresolved.

What Is The Physical Solution ?

They are smoking cessation devices that you can buy over-the-counter (without any prescriptions) or on-line to help you to quit smoking. I'm sure you tried some of them at some point of your life. Some of the common ones are nicotine gum, nicotine patches, e-cigarettes, nasal sprays and inhalers while the not so common ones are acupuncture, drugs and even hypnosis.

These aids which are easily available focus only on stopping the physical addiction to nicotine, and many smokers can succeed in quitting with the help of smoking cessation devices. But many more continue smoking again. Why is this so? Because they did not successfully solve the psychological aspect to quitting smoking.

What Is The Psychological Solution ?

The psychological solution is a systematic step-by-step psychological program that uses psychological techniques to deal with how the brain process all the information about smoking. The program works by utilising techniques for stopping triggers to smoke, ways to overcome cravings and urges to smoke, minimizing physical withdrawal symptoms, a method to make you feeling happy and in control of your life (instead of the cigarette controlling your life) after quitting and even a special plan for people looking to avoid weight gain when they quit.

Many people have tried to quit smoking for years with little or no success at all. They will go on trying many things but always go back smoking. As an ex-smoker, I know that is so true and its' so difficult to quit until I found out the best way to quitting smoking for good; to combine a smoking cessation device together with a psychological solution that are readily available in most places now.

Hi, thanks for asking the question. I think no method or gimmick will work until you yrself decide to call it quits. How? If you frequently get sick smoking, that could be an excuse and way to quit. Or smelling like shit after a puff not to mention the smell in the room. Find good reasons to quit (something you dislike about smoking), build on that and then take action.

Meredith, I know its' 100% true because I am an ex-smoker. I stopped when I did not have the desire (psychological) to smoke anymore. Thanks for reading.

I think you are 100% correct on it being a psychological problem. I've read that craving nicotine subsides within 3 days of not smoking. So, the only answer could be the psychological addiction. Good article!

My son... trying to stop smoking...was really hard for him and while trying to stop, he eats a lot of fruits and vegetables , green tea plus my Moringa capsule and fresh malunggay leaves to prevent from any disease problem...added to that ,have faith! Thanks, good article...Eugene.
