Billy And Janie Getting Married

Okay, so do you remember the rhyme? Second grade? The whole bit about "K-i-s-s-i-n-g, First comes love, then comes marriage"? that rhyme was made up by some kids who didn't know how to deal with their growing interest in the opposite sex. Now, if we are truthful with ourselves, we didn't know what those words really meant; but for some reason don't they just sound logical? First comes love, then comes marriage; wait, MARRIAGE? Today, people jump left and right into marriage without knowing what they're getting into! I attribute the success of all those TV reality shows to people who didn't put much thought into it. Marriage is serious business!

Marriage is still the oldest living institution in existence, and with good reason. Somewhere deep down inside of most of us, we want to have a significant other as in spouse; something permanent and that will last. If you are a person who has decided in life that marriage is not for you, your issue is solved. If that first person I mentioned is you, your issue is at hand. If you want to get married and are actively searching for a Mr. right I would like you to consider the following:

Are you approachable?- Sounds strange, but men are human too, and their egos are very fragile. Men usually will not approach a women who looks like she just sucked on a lemon, or has an angry expression. They are also reluctant to walk up to a group of women, unless they are a not particular about which one of those women they talk to, in which case you don't want to attract them anyway right? The important thing is to be aware that they are watching, and you will find them everywhere. I don't recommend looking for a man in a bar, odds are he'll have on the bar face and won't be seriously looking.

Are you confident?- The most important beginning for you to attract the "right" man, is that you know yourself and like yourself. When was the last time you took an inventory of your virtues? What was the last book you read? Are you taking care of yourself? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. You are definitely worth the time to take care of yourself and so is the man you are looking for.

Are you really actively looking?- being pro-active means to not just be active, but to be forward active, there are lots of avenues for meeting people, I have heard marriage stories of couples who met at the laundromat and at a pet store. They were aware that they were looking, so their senses were heightened and ready to find what they wanted.

Here's a quick story: I was at lunch one day getting a sandwich and I saw this guy staring at me; I was a little taken by him, he was really gorgeous! I didn't talk to him or anything, later I kicked myself for being so dumb. He was trying to talk to me, but I was duh, shy. If that wasn't enough, all I could think of that day was that face. Believe it or not, four days later, out with my friend Paula shopping, all of a sudden a guy approached me and said "You are so beautiful", I of course thought at first, "wow!", then immediately thought, what does this guy want? It wasn't until three hours later that I realized that it was the same guy! Can you believe that? Thank goodness that was a long time ago and I finally got the fact that I had to be aware of what I was looking for. If you have ever had an experience like that, you know what I mean.

Finally, have you made a list? Where do I start, you ask? Well, first things first, where do you see yourself ten years from now? Really dig down and decide what you want from the person you will hopefully spend the rest of your life with. Detail by detail, that way you will know what you are looking for and believe me, when you are clear about that, that person will find you. I'm rootin' for ya!
