An Easy French Recipe, My Ultimate Reblochon !

Hello everybody,

This is the first time i write a recipe but i will write it with my hearth because i love so much that french cheese, the Reblochon.

We product the Reblochon on a french province that we call "Savoie" (In the mountain close to Switzerland ) with cow milk. Reblochon is a very old cheese made mostly by little independant farmer. Also some bigger company product some good quality Reblochon to export it around the world.

To do this 4 person recipe you will need :

- 500gr Reblochon from the farm if possible.

- 1kg potatoes ( I use the red crumy ones ).

- 100gr of crème fraiche.

- 200gr Fake bacon (Available in the Netherlands don't know in other countrys ).

- 4 Big onions.

- 3 Little toes of garlic.

- Basilicum, this is what i add myself when i cook the bacon.

- Olive oil, 1 or 2 big spoon when you cook the bacon.

Now you have all you need let's start cooking :)

1/ Preheat the oven ( 220 degré, 428 Farenheit ) and on the normal heat, put a big pan with water for the potatoes, the time the water need to boil you will remove the skin of the potatoes and cut them in slice ( 2-4 millimeters ).

2/ Cut the onions and the garlic in little pieces, you can also cut the onion in big piece it's your own choice.

3/The water boil, put the potatoes inside the pan and wait 12 minutes, the potatoes have to be soft but not too soft to brake this is really important.

4/ Put an other pan on the heat, put the reblochon and the crème fraiche in it and let it melt.

5/ You also have to cook the bacon, onions and garlic, i always put the bacon first because i don't like when the onions and garlic are too much cooked. Don't forget the basilicum and the olive oil.

6/ When everything is ready, take a strong dish for the oven, and put in order :

  • Half of the potatoes.
  • Half of the bacon,onions and garlic.
  • Half of the cream you made.
  • Left of the bacon, onions and garlic.
  • Left of the potatoes.
  • left of the cream you made.

7/ Put the dish in the oven and wait until you see the upside became brown ( it take 45- 60 minutes ).

Bon Apétit !!! And congratulation now enjoy it with a nice red wine of "Savoie" if you can or also a Bordeaux Malesan.
