Easy Recipes for Organic Foods

It is no surprise that organic foods are a growing trend in the food industry. All for good reason. Organic foods eliminate all the chemical us humans thought would make our food “better” starting about 20-30 years ago. Those chemicals did make the food taste better and last longer, but at the cost of expanding waistlines and an increase in a variety of other diseases, illnesses and allergies. These true foods are now readily available in your local grocery store. The next step is to find easy recipes for organic foods that naturally make them taste better.

Easy Recipes for Organic Foods: Mac ‘n Cheese

1 Tbsp organic butter

1 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1 cu organic heavy cream

1 cu organic whole milk

9 oz shredded cheddar cheese

4 oz crumbled Gruyere cheese

10 oz macaroni pasta

1 cu of bread crumbs (get as many organic ingredients as you can) Cook pasta according to package. Melt butter in a large medium-high heat sauce pan. Add flour and stir until completely mixed and develops a nutty smell. Add the cream and bring to a boil. Add the milk and bring back to a boil. Add the cheese handfuls at a time. Stir until melted between each handful. Once all the cheese is melted add the pasta. Pour the pasta and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes until bread crumbs are slightly browned.

Easy Recipes for Organic Foods: Organic Egg Salad

3 hard boiled eggs, sliced and chopped

2 tablespoons organic mayonnaise

1/2 sm minced shallot

1 tsp fresh basil

6 cherry tomatoes, quartered

1/2 avocado, sliced thin

1 cu thinly sliced red and green cabbage

Sea salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Combine first four ingredients. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir in tomatoes. Divide the cabbage between two plates. Lay avocado slices on top of cabbage. Top with egg salad and enjoy!

Easy Recipes for Organic Foods: Anytime Stir-Fry Sauce

½ organic bouillon cube

1/3 cu water

2 Tbsp organic all-purpose flour

¼ cup water

1Tbsp organic soy sauce

Dissolve half of the bouillon cube in a sauce pan with 1/3 cup simmering water. In a closed jar, mix 2 tablespoons of flour with 1/4 cup of water until smooth. Add to the saucepan and let thicken. Add soy sauce (add more based on taste). Add sauce to your favorite organic veggies and some brown rice.
