My Personal Experience With Paleo Diet Recipes
Paleo diet recipes are a fun way to incorporate healthy eating into your life. Just like most people, I have tried a number of diets that included meal replacement bars or shakes, diet supplements, calorie counting requirements and portion control requirements. The one thing all of these diets had in common is that they don't work for me, and I'm gonna guess that they don't work for you either.
Most diet programs focus on quick weight loss; health and overall well being are secondary. These diets leave you feeling hungry and deprived of being able to eat something you can really sink your teeth into, if you know what I mean. These options also leave you feeling bored of eating the same ol' things because what you can eat is so limited. The paleo diet is nothing like that. The focus is on whole-body health; it's actually the diet that we (all humans) were evolved to eat since the time of our early human ancestors. It encourages foods like game meat, shell fish, tubers and wild fruits. Likewise, the paleo diet discourages foods like white bread and refined sugar which are at the source of many of today's common diseases.
The paleo diet is not only healthy, it is also very tasty. I can honestly tell you that, with the help of paleo diet recipes, my taste buds have never been so stimulated in my whole life! The food I'm cooking is absolutely ridiculous (in a good way). The quality of food, the herbs and spices, and all the options, are things you can hardly get from the most upscale resturants in town! Paloe diet recipes are your key to upscale, 5-star eating, in the comfort of your own home. No joke.
A New Dish I Explored Last Night
Speaking of fancy dishes, I'm so excited to share the paleo diet recipe I explored last night.
Garlic Herb Lamb Shanks: Directions
- Pre-heat the oven to 400F.
- Melt paleo cooking fat.
- With a food processor mix the cooking fat with fresh herbs including thyme, sage and rosemary for a flavorful sauce.
- Cut a slit in each shank from the base upward to make a pocket.
- Rub the sauce all over the shanks and inside the pocket. Add a little salt and pepper.
- Dice carrots and onions.
- Lay out a 4-arm length of foil, double the foil square so it wont rip. One foil square for each shank.
- Put diced carrots, onions and 3 unpeeled garlic cloves on each foil square.
- Place the shank on top of the veggies on each foil square
- Wrap the shank and veggies in the foil making sure the food is completely covered and sealed.
- Put each foil package in a baking pan. Put it in the oven for about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Give each dinner guest their own foil package. They are sure to enjoy opening their own meal surprise.
