What Are the Best Methods to Cook Chicken Breasts?

There has always been a debate about the healthier option between chicken thighs and chicken breasts! But now it's has been proved that chicken breasts are healthier than thighs or drumsticks; because chicken thighs have skin and dark meat in comparison with breasts, which contains white meat making it more beneficial to health.

In today's topic let us discuss a few best methods of cooking chicken breasts. To begin with, never poke a chicken which has to be cooked with a fork or make holes in it the portion. Chicken breasts are tender and soft and cook quickly in comparison to any other part of the chicken. Making holes in the chicken allows moisture to go out leaving behind you with dry and unhealthy dish.

While cooking, always add salt in the end, as salt takes moisture out from the food content. Another important tip is, always give rest to chicken recipes for 5 minutes before serving it; since this helps in retaining all the natural juices which are absorbed again into the dish. Following these simple tips will help you get a moist and tender chicken dish.

There are many ways which can make your cooking easy-

• Bake it - The simplest and healthiest way to make chicken breast is to bake it. Marinate it in some olive oil, lemon juice, and fresh herbs, then bake them with fresh veggies.

• Stir-fry - Cut the breasts into strips. Spray a non-stick skillet pan with some oil. Add crushed garlic, grated ginger and chopped shallots over high heat. After adding the dressing or sauce of your choice, put the chicken pieces and stir fry until it's cooked.

• Steam them - Slice the chicken breasts in thin strips, add aromatic herbs, veggies like carrots, mushrooms, broccolis, peas, crushed lemongrass etc. and sprinkle a bit of oil; then steam it. Discard the lemongrass before serving.

• Use spice rub - Marinate the chicken pieces with some dried herbs and spices, massage this mixture on the chicken and give it proper rest to make sure that the chicken absorbs the flavors and tastes. Now you can cook it the way you like; either make chicken curry or simply fry them.

• Beat them flat - If you are planning to make some rolls or wraps; chicken breasts can be the best option for it. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap, then beat them to a 1cm thickness with a heavy-base pan, rolling pin or meat mallet. Now put the filling in these breasts and bake them.

Chicken breast recipes are also popular because they are quick and easy to make. So even if you start preparing your dinner a little later than normal, cooking chicken breasts is a simple and easy option.

Other methods which you can try are - make kebabs, use in premade sauce, soups, and salads of choice! So next time when you plan to cook chicken, pick the healthiest and tastiest method that appeals to your taste buds.
