Using Jealousy To Get Your Ex Back - Does It Work?

You may be searching for the concrete answer that's going to make your breakup a thing of the past. You want to know what you have to do in order to force your ex to take you back - or else. Unfortunately, no such answer exists. Additionally, you are in no position to be able to demand things from your ex. They ended a romantic relationship with you for a reason - whether that reason was good or not is completely irrelevant. You're probably not going to be able to make them change their minds. If you want things to turn around for you, you need to start with the basics. That means that you have to start with yourself - the only thing that you have any control over at the moment. You also need to choose your moves carefully.

There is no definitive number of mistakes that can be made throughout this process before you're simply out of luck. It varies by your unique situation and can't accurately be predicted. That means that you have to think before acting and make sure that you're doing as much as possible to put yourself on the right path, not the one that's going to leave you hurt and alone all over again.

It's safe to say that out of all human emotion, jealousy is one of the most common - and the most powerful. It can be twisted, used and manipulated easily and can be a potentially valuable asset in the battle to win back an ex. Jealousy, however, is like a ticking time bomb. If you don't exercise caution and discretion, it's going to blow up and cost you a lot more than just the potential to get back together with your ex. It's something that needs to be used in moderation at all times, and not something that can be toyed with or taken for granted. Is it an effective way to get your ex's attention? Possibly. Does that mean that you should start dating someone new just to make your ex jealous?

Absolutely not. In fact, beginning a new relationship with someone just to create jealousy on the part of your ex is one of the worst things you can possibly do. It can sink your chances of getting back together faster than almost any other alternative, and it's going to leave you more hurt than you are now. You should never pursue a course of action just to prompt jealousy. You don't want your ex to just react to things you do - you want them to act, period. That means making an effort for positive growth and not feeding off of negative emotions like jealousy, hurt and anger. If you try to use jealousy on purpose to give yourself the upper hand, you may just discover how dangerous it can be when you're the one left holding the dynamite and it's about to blow.

The important factor here is your ex's perception. They see you right now as an ex - and they may be prepared for the worst. If you act in a manner that just tries to make them jealous, they're probably not going to be fooled, and if they are it certainly won't be for long. They'll know what you're up to and their perception of you will plummet even further. Not only will you be an ex - you'll be an ex that's desperate for attention, not a person who has relationship potential.

There are plenty of advantages to gradually becoming more social after a difficult breakup. It can help ease the pain and loneliness associated with that kind of a loss, and it can create a positive change internally in you. If you get out of the post-breakup depression and genuinely make an effort to improve your situation and your life, your ex is going to notice the difference, and this can actually work in your favor. Sending positive vibes out into the air is very attractive to the opposite sex, and your ex is hardly immune. It may just turn the tide on how they see you, and their perception goes a long way in eventually winning back your ex.

Starting the process of dating from the beginning is almost as daunting as trying to win your ex back. It's complicated, and you've probably got your guard up in an effort to keep from getting hurt all over again. Keep in mind that you don't have to rush. This is about you, not about anyone else, and you're on your own timetable here - not someone else's. Do what you're comfortable with and you may discover the joys of dating again.

The thing about jealousy is that it doesn't have an expiration date. It doesn't matter overall if your breakup was last month or last year - if your ex sees you spending time with someone else, jealousy is going to come into play whether they want it to or not. The bonds that are established over time within a relationship are not easily broken, and they certainly don't vanish just because a relationship has ended. Running into you is going to spark a lot of memories in your ex's mind, and that's going to get the ball rolling. Don't be too shocked if you get a call, text or email from your ex - and don't be surprised if they want to get together in person.

Just because jealousy can be useful does not mean that it should be your first option. If anything, it's just one of the many parts of a bigger picture that can lead to results. Before you give the jealousy stand-by a try, make sure you've exhausted your other, more positive options. There are a lot of ways to work towards winning back your ex, and there is a very good chance they can succeed if you put in the effort.

What To Do Next

There are so many more effective strategies to win your ex back than jealousy. You should look into the no contact rule if you want to stop your ex in their tracks and make them think about you again. You should also make sure that you are not making any fatal break up mistakes. If you are guilty of doing any of these things then you should stop now before you push your ex away for good.
