Lately people have been pegging the advancement of recent technologies, stating that we are getting lazier and lazier, we can do everything on our new iPhone or smart phone, things like that. However not all of it has to be negative, when it comes to working out at home this convenience has always been there. Workout DVD’s have been around for a long, long time. And now the fastest growing combat sport in the world is taking advantage of this. Many professional fighters like Matt Hughes and Randy Couture have been creating there own workout programs making it easier and more assessable to train in MMA. Here are things to consider when looking for a MMA home workout program.
1. Know what you want.
This may sound easy but many people don't know what they want or what they are buying when looking for these programs. Do you want an easy laid back program just to get in shape? Or are you actually looking to add on to your training and improve yourself as a fighter? You have to ask your self these questions in order to get the right program for you. You cant go in thinking " I just want to get into shape" and go and buy some hard-core beat em up kind of program. You wont enjoy it and would likely lose interest. Know what you want an translate that into your purchase.
2.Does the Product cover all aspects of MMA?
MMA is dynamic sport, covering all aspects of fighting. It covers the striking, the clinch and the ground work, a MMA workout needs to cover all of these things. If a workout only covers kicking and punching it is not an MMA workout its just simplified kickboxing. Just like the sport, the workout also has to be dynamic, it has to cover all areas. So look for this when considering a routine you want to buy. Look at some video of the product or some reviews. Do you see any ground work? Is it all just kickboxing on a T.V screen? Consider these when looking for a program.
3.Plan time out of your day and stick to a schedule. This is a pretty general topic that could apply to any workout, on T.V or at a gym. Actually plan time out of your day to train and workout. For example Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 sharp, or every morning if you want more. It is a lot easier to stick to a schedule because you are at home. Stick to a schedule and don't stray from it.
The convenience of a workout DVD or video tape has been around for decades. However because the sport of MMA has just now recently begun to gain momentum many MMA workout DVD’s have been created allowing you to workout at home. Many people have been taking advantage of this and making lackluster programs so when your looking for one consider these three things. One is to know what you want, don't buy a hardcore program if you just want to workout twice a week. Two is to see if the program covers all aspects of MMA. Three is to make a schedule and plan time out of your day to do the program. Consider these things and you can have a program right for you in your home.
