The following is a fictitious tale. Many people may relate to this though, so although it is fictitious it does have some underlying truths that need to be told.
Some relationships are just not meant to be. Such was the case of Sue and Tim. After Sue and Tim went their separate ways, neither one of them had any intention of trying to reconcile. Knowing this Sue knew it was time to get on with her life.
Break ups are hard so Sue reached out to her friends for some break up advice. Being her friends they of course were very sympathetic to Sue’s recent split from Tim. After time though her friends turned a deaf ear to her problems, after all we all have our own problems and they were more interested in those. Sue was a bit upset by this seemingly lack of support and turned to her mom for some break up advice.
Moms always want the best for their children especially their daughters. She had thought that Tim was going to be her future son-in-law so her break up advice was more on the lines of what Sue could do to get him back. She truly thought Sue was letting the man of her life get away.
Still looking for some break up advice Sue sought the help of a therapist. These sessions helped Sue see what the problems in the relationship were that caused the break up and it helped her to move past it all.
Sue still had some of Tim’s things which for some reason still had an effect any time she laid eyes on them. First order of business Sue gave some of his things back and other things she trashed. Tim also over time had given Sue some very nice presents which for now she packed up and stored away. Nothing like out of sight out of mind.
Sue now decided to follow some of her own break up advice. She started doing things for herself. Certain things had gone by the wayside when she had been dating Tim. She basically did the things he liked and ignored the things she would have liked to do. Not now!
Tickets to the ballet were first on her agenda. After all she was trained as a classical dancer and she did appreciate the ballet. She also joined an adult dance class. It got her out meeting new people and it got her back in shape.
Following some more of her own break up advice she decided to explore new interests. One of her new interests was wine. She liked wine but did not really understand how you could tell a good wine from a bad wine. Why did they swirl the wine in the glass and then sniff?
Off to another class. Before long Sue learned a few things about the finer wines and by chance she also met Brett. Brett liked fine wines and good food and he also seemed to like Sue. So Sue now followed one more piece of her own break up advice – she started seeing Brett. It may work out it may not but Sue seems to think a lot less about Tim when Brett is around.
So the best break up advice that anyone can give you is to move on with your life.
