We often hear this phrase in Christian circles where it is said, we need to learn to love each other, love yourself, and love God. With many of the conflicts in the world today; one way to end it all would be to love each other and to love our God. In fact the prophet Moses said that this is our main duty to obey and love our God with all our heart, might, and soul (Deut 6 v5). Jesus said the same thing as Moses in Luke chapter 10 verses 27. In this short article I hope to share how the bible showed me how to love my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and in Adam; and how to love my God, Jesus.
How to Love Yourself and Each Other: Jesus said one cannot love Him if he cannot love his fellow brother; and He said this because how can you love someone you’ve never seen or met; and hate one who you see everyday? In James chapter 2 verses 8; it says if you fulfill the royal law by loving your neighbor as you love yourself you do well. The royal law is God’s 10 Commandments… and if we look at the latter six we’ll see they focus on how to love each other.
It begins with honoring our parents, avoid killing, avoid sleeping with your neighbors wife, avoid stealing, lying, and being envious of your pals and gals; you’ll actually show the greatest love one can show to another human being.
How to Love GOD? God introduced Himself to humanity on Mt Sinai and showed us how to love Him. The first four commandments exemplify how we are to love our Creator. Have no other gods before Me God said, and do not make graven images, we so often see in our day and age and serve them, do not use the Lord’s name in vain, and remember to keep, honor, respect, and rest on the Lord’s Sabbath day. Doing these is how we express love for our God as Jesus mentioned in St. John 14 v15.
Just practicing the 10 Commandments God presented and commanded will lead you to loving yourself, your neighbor, and your God Jesus the Christ better. While this is unbelievably simple; many people do not believe this to be actual and factual. I challenge you to keep the commandments of God and you will by default show more love for others and God than you’ve ever imagined. Another secret benefit this will give you is better understanding of the bible as it says in the scripture, a good understanding have all they that keep His commandments (Psalms 111 v10).
Love each other; love God, starting today and forever. God bless you in Jesus name Amen

Thank you for that thought Koko. It seems that these days people who care about God tend to follow all but the 4th one. That is truly a shame! God is perfect and never changing, and the fact that He gave us these rules to live by indicates that we will be happiest by following them. People who teach that 1 of those laws are unnecessary or has changed, are leading mankind astray. May God richly bless you daily! Your Brother in Christ, DC Hale
