Have you ever noticed that all of the problems on Earth appear to start from one misunderstanding? We can not agree on "What Exactly is God?" If you are a member of a religion you may well think that you know, and many scientists may say he does not exist, but is this true? Does anyone know the truth?
I do not believe that anyone has the right to tell us as they were not present at the beginning of time, however I am certain that it is that definition that is our problem. We tend to want everything to have a beginning and an end, because we do, and imagining the infinite is not possible for us.
Let us imagine that the scientific Big Bang is correct. If this were so then just prior to it there must have been a state of absolutely nothingness. This we know as humans is not possible as we would need infinite force to remove every last trace of material right down to the last atom. So this theory is likely wrong, the alternate theory of continuous Big Bangs seems more likely to be correct. It fits in with Einstein`s theory of relativity where everything we observe is relative to our position in time and space.
The existence of God is never debated in Science, but there is one thing that is definitely true. It does not matter whether you believe or not, in order for the Universe to exist there must be infinite power and energy, and that is the point. Infinite, that which has no beginning and no end! So we know that there is infinite power and energy and that it exists throughout the Universe. In fact it is the Universe the whole comprises nothing but infinite power and energy. Seems to me this fits in with religious beliefs, God is infinite power and energy, the very fabric of the Universe.
Now this realisation should make us all realise that war and fighting are ridiculous since we are all a little piece of God. This being true why would we ever want to destroy anything? We should not belittle anyone or anything and should never bully them. What is the point? We are all perfect in our current role no matter our perceived imperfections. The Universe is in a continual state of creation destruction and renewal it is of its very nature, but it is has been and always will be infinite and contains everything that ever existed, without beginning and without end, in short it is God and it can not be denied.
Religions have been formulated by man to help explain this but that is all, they have been abused by rulers and their leaders but the truth is that nothing much matters as no matter what we do the Universe and God will go on for ever. If only Internet Marketing were so simple and that the tools to do it were so easy to find.

The Big Bang Theory does not say that everything came from nothing so it is your understanding about what the theory actually says that is likely wrong. You say, "The existence of God is never debated in Science" which is an assumption on your part but let's suppose that's true for the sake of argument. Scientist's tend to debate on the conclusions they reach about things they can actually observe. Since there is not a single shred of evidence for a God or God's, there IS nothing to debate.
Nobody knows what God is, even Moses was only allowed to see a glimpse of the back of God as he passed him by. Scientists have debated the existence of God from the beginning in fact most of the early ones were all Christians who made the huge discoveries. It is now that the secular world has diluted the word of God and science has filled young minds with pure hypothesis claiming them as fact. The big bang cannot be proven and every year some new smarty pants comes up with a new variable to make it work so again per conjecture. Man wants to know the big question "why am I here? and in trying to find the answer has turned away from scripture and to science. The concept of time was created by God when he took 6 days to make the Universe and rested the seventh. Hence the seven day week still continuing to this day. In summing up I love science and it has made life much more interesting these past 30-40 years with the introduction of computers, space travel, the hadron accelerator, etc, however I still keep my faith close to my heart and use that to make decisions. At the end of days we will all know who is in charge anyway!
I am of the opinion that science and religion should work together not in opposite directions. God is the answer to the mystery where does gravity come from, and also is the only one that really fully understands relativity. I think that when the satellites sent from Earth reach the next galaxy they will find that it too is expanding from a different central point or big bang. My feeling is that nothing actually travels faster than light, that is just an illusion created through relativity. We see what we see because of where we are at. Time as you rightly say was created by God and so were all the other dimensions. We only exist in 3 plus time (4) so we are very limited in outlook. We know there are many more perhaps infinite? God of course exists in all of them, we do not and hence the comment in the Bible about not being able to look on God and live. I hope that one day we will alll have the answer, but I do fear for those that do not accept Jesus as the Saviour.
I believe that I can be of some help on the prophecy question. The Energy that makes up the Universe (God) Is not bound by space or time because Energy is space, time is a function of movement through space. So time is an illusion caused by the motion of matter (energy slowed down below the speed of light ) around a central core (black hole) which rotates at the speed of light and transforms matter into energy. This same energy is the real state of consciousness which our subconscious minds are connected to and returns to during our sleeping hours. Prophecy is an everyday occurrence, people from all over the world, following different belief structures, see into the future and have done so from the beginning of our awakened consciousness. Prophecy is nothing out of the ordinary, in fact it is our disconnect from our true nature that has caused our disconnect with the source of prophecy. We are naturally capable of prophecy, it is our conscious minds that rejects the truth that we are energy living a material experience. That means that we are the source, we need to find our true nature as energetic beings and know that everything is an individual aspects of the whole. Ancient people in general were closer to their true nature, intuition was needed much more than it is now. This means that there was probably more prophets then than now, but that does not mean that their prophecies were better. It simply means that more people were able to truly access the Universal consciousness because they were more prone to meditation than most people are today. Sitting quietly with an open mind is how we contact the Universal consciousness, we must keep the ego mind out and allow natural thought to occur naturally. Through out our history prophets are generally laughed at, or not paid any attention to during their life time. It's only after the fact that we see the relevance of their words. There are prophets in every religion that has ever existed here on Earth. Some have a high degree of accuracy, others don't. The point is no one religion owns the market on good or bad prophets. This if further proof of the single nature of all things. If your religious theology was the only true source of all things, then it would also be the only true source of prophecy, but it's not is it? There fore you should begin to understand that we are here to learn to live in a higher state of mind that has communion with the Universal consciousness (God) regularly, and with real positive emotion. I have seen far too much fake spirituality for my taste. I write this to you in hopes that it will be helpful in shedding some light for us all.
Wow that is exactly the thought and feeling that I have. The result of religions as we know them is a battle between vested interests to try to end up on top, but on top of what? If what you and I believe is the truth and the evidence would tend to point in that direction the fight itself is futile. Since our current existence is merely a tranference of the energy into a life form for a temporary existence, which has no meaning in the greater order of the Universe and God. It becomes deeper as to exist we must by definition be a part of God, who is the energy force required to drive it all and hence who are we and what are we doing when we attempt to destroy one another? There is no logical reason for us to behave in this manner is there?
I agree, God is the Universe, which means that everything in existence is God. One big dysfunctional family.
This article appears to have had the effect I hoped it would, in that it stirred up emotions and thought. I think that we will probably never have all the answers, but that all that is of God and is God will always exist
Well said that man! Some years ago I stumbled on a series of books entitled "Conversations with God" by Neil Donald Walsch which pretty much confirmed my conclusions as to the nature of that force we call God. I would recommend that you have a read if you can.
Mark, I have spent many years studying the bible and not all of the answers are there. The thing is if you and I read something we do not necessarily understand it in the same way. Like you said this is down to experience and what we have learned. I agree that religion in and of itself has little to do with this. I all depends on what we have experienced and how we choose to believe these influences are working. So before you make assumptions about where someone is coming from you need to walk a mile in their shoes. Not literally of course, but do not jump to conclusions for which you lack the foundations.
Sorry Stephen, I did not mean to make assumptions or jump to conclusions and no, I have not walked in your shoes or you in mine. The chioce of words that I used at the end there, well I am only human. See, it is like someone telling me that my God does not exist, when I know that he does (you have not walked in my shoes), or the professor walked in the old man shoes. For the studying and understanding the bible...In 1 Corinthians 12:3 Paul writes..I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit. So he is saying that no man that does not have the Spirit of God can judge God existance: and that no man can call Jesus Lord unless he has the Spirit of God! The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit. I believe that the Holy Bible has all the answers.
Stephen, We learn things by reading and experience. Through books we learn by reading. Through life we experience. So it boils down not to religion, but belief! There was a professor at a college speaking on the non exisitance of God. At the end of his speach he asked if there was any questions. This old man sitting in the back that was eating an apple said..."yes sir, ( while eating his apple ) can you tell me how this apple taste?" The professor said "No, of course not." The old man replied..."Well you do not know what my God taste like either!" So if you are going to talk about anything. Make sure that you have all the information first! Grab a Bible and check it out!!!
Stephen, I enjoyed your article. How would you explain prophecy? Collin Csuy
Collin,That is a difficult question, but is really a form of communication between God and men. It appears that there are moments when we are at a loss as to what to do when we have a connection with the power that runs the Universe. I have sometimes experienced an inner feeling to do something and just obeyed it without question. The reason for this I do not know or comprehend but often these events change my life for the better or even save it altogether. I believe the prophets were somehow closer to the force that is God and interpreted these feelings that often occur as dreams. We are essentially Bio Chemo Electrical beings and the wave forms of the energy in the Universe can be felt by us, most have not developed their ability to feel these and interpret them. I think that the prophets probably could and did. I would appreciate anyone else's feed back on this.
Stephen, For me, prophecy is, in a sense, a proof for God. Since the prophet Daniel was able to predict the correct date for the crucifixion of Jesus, Daniel must have got this information from a source outside of space-time. Time progresses for us, and it is hard for us to comprehend an unknown future, but the spirit realm need not be a part of the space-time continuum. Prophecy seems like a way for God to be able to give us a clear sign who it is that we should pay attention to for Godly advice. Jesus fulfilled prophecies by coming with the correct name (meaning God with us), at the correct date, at the correct location (the city of David, Bethlehem), and for the correct purpose (the suffering Messiah). This same four-part criteria seems to be a lesson that those who trust in Jesus can use for the coming of the Reigning Messiah that Jesus prophesied would come. As for me, I would rather have a faith based on reason such as this rather than a blind faith that trusts in men of power when power is known to corrupt.
